It was 6 in the morning and you were in the kitchen starting to make a cake for Harry's birthday. Today was his birthday and you wanted to surprise him, you weren't a professional chef but you were a great baker in your own home. You knew how much Harry and your friends loved your baking and always made sure they got some before it all went, and it went fast.

You made a check list in your head as you moved along the counter from left to right; flour, butter, eggs, sugar, 2 whole lemons, a jar of lemon curd and a splash of milk. Everything was there and you were ready to start weighing out all of the ingredients needed to make your signature lemon drizzle cake that everyone loved.

You placed in the dry ingredients mixing slightly, combining them before adding in the wet ingredients. You whisked it all together by hand taking a good five minutes because you didn't want to use the electric whisk in case anyone woke up from the noise or if the neighbours made a complaint. You placed the mixture into the loaf tin once it was all mixed together and popped it in the oven; all you had to do now was wait for 20 minutes to be up. As you waited for the cake to cook you started to clean up the mess you'd made. You'd always been a messy baker, always spilling flour everywhere. As you started to clean up the mess your hands became linked but pulled with your arms backwards, constricting them against your back, aggressively. You didn't hear anyone enter; this made you break out into a sweat. The person wouldn't let you go and you let out a wince in pain. You could feel the person breathing down your neck as you struggled to break free; their grip was too strong for you. Their breathing got closer, and closer, and closer until their lips connected with your neck. You froze not knowing what to do. You felt paralysed. One kiss. Two. However by the third kiss you relaxed realising you knew those lips, it was Harry. Relief washed over you once you realised, you turned around and planted a kiss on his lips before pulling away and he let your arms flow but kept you close with his arms around your waist.

"Happy birthday Harry, I love you, but don't scare me like that again", you say still a little shaken up but lovingly.

"Thanks another year older; I love you too (Y/N) and I'm so sorry I really didn't mean to scare you just surprise you and be romantic", Harry replied placing his forehead against yours gazing into your eyes.

"Don't worry and no, only another day older than yesterday", you reply keeping eye contact with Harry as you speak before kissing his lips whilst placing your hands on his cheeks. He kisses you back still holding your waist until he pulls away.

"What's that smell?" he asks curiously looking around the kitchen with narrow eyes like an eagle hunting for prey.

"Um, nothing", you reply trying to sound genuine but failing as Harry grabs your side pulling you to his left as he points down into the oven.

"Really so this cake I see in the oven is nothing then? Might as well get rid of it then." he says half serious half mockingly.

"Okay stop", you say putting your hand out in front of the oven protectively. "It might be something for a certain somebody if they stop being annoying", you say staring at Harry and then back at the cake forgetting that it was still baking. You checked the timer on the counter. It had stopped counting down showing that the cake needed to come out; you motioned for Harry to move out of the way as you grabbed your oven gloves and opened the door to take out the cake which you then gently placed on the top where the hobs were as if it were a new born baby.

The strong aroma of lemon filled the room instantly, spreading happiness across the flat. You turned off the oven and closed the door before taking your oven gloves off and placing them on the side. You placed a net over the cake whilst it rested and Harry had now walked back over to you after you told him to move away lacing his arms once again around your waist.

"Thank you it looks and smells amazing as always but you didn't need to get up so early or even make me a cake; I would have been fine without one", Harry said caringly.

"I was already awake and I wanted to make one so I did. You mean the world to me so I wanted to give you something back even it was only small", you reply back sweetly.

"You're all I need to feel happy (Y/N)", he replied burying his face into your shoulder where you allowed him to stay for a little bit because it was his special day after all but you eventually made him move leaving a sad face engraved and puppy dogs gazing down at you. You tried to ignore him but he got the better of you and you found yourself being dragged by Harry who took you back to bed.

You both lay there for a few minutes just staring at the ceiling in your own worlds before turning to face the other. You both smiled at each other before inching closer and connecting lips. It was a soft kiss followed by another more passionate one before you both pulled away and Harry flipped you over so you were now facing the windows. He snaked his arms around you luring you closer to him and you accepted hugging his arms back whilst he protected you tightly as you closed your eyes in his strong hold thinking about what the day ahead would have in store.

Not the best and not the worse, hope you enjoyed and the next story will probably be a Simon one.
