Effortlessly my floppy body attracts me to the kitchen where I circle around the island, my finger dragging its self around the spotty marble top as I unhurriedly pace myself in the dimly light room. I circle around once, twice, and by the fifth time I finally come to a halt to stare out into the poorer lighted part of the room in front of me. "I don't even know what to think, yet alone what to do," I find myself saying out loud as a whisper; hands coming up to my face, covering the real world – if I'm even in the real world.
A vampire; blood sucking creatures that hide in the shadows, who are only truly seen in the encroaching twilight to midnight before daylight creeps in before burning or disintegration can take place and people who are greatly feared by many. People – are they people? Can they be categorised like that, compared to mortal humans? Is anyone else in this house the same?
I feel myself becoming lightheaded as I over think everything. My hand reaches out to grip onto the kitchen counter, but the feeling in my fingers is nonexistent and my hand just slips straight past the marble as my vision dissipates and everything turns dark.
"(Y/N)...(Y/N)!" A distancing voice calls, growing closer and louder. Soon spots dazzle my eyes before dissolving to reveal a lower view of the kitchen, this time with bright rays burning my retinas. "Thank God," I hear an all too familiar voice murmur just above me.
"What did I do?" I ask confused, trying to depict my actions previously.
"You slipped and almost fell head first onto the floor, but luckily I caught you before you did. Have you got concussion? Amnesia?" He threats over, placing his cold hand to my forehand and then my wrist.
"Si, I'm fine, just a little dizzy," I answer whilst trying to force myself up into a sitting position only to find Simon's legs about mine and his chest snugly pressed upon my back. However his arms then pocket under my arms and sit me up, placing my back against the wooden boarded island.
"Don't move," he sharply tells, his eyes full meaning it and before I can even think to move my mouth he dashes out of sight but returns at the speed of lightning with a glass of water that he forces into my hand. I weakly smile, grateful for his gesture whilst he just stares at me. I take a few sips of the cold liquid before stopping. "Drink more, please." His face is stern and quite emotionless but I know he's panicking slightly inside.
"Si, I'm perfectly fine, I promise," I smile at him, cupping my hand to his face directly opposite me.
"Just drink a bit more, for me," he still persists and I feel obliged to take a couple more sips before lowering the glass down by my side.
"Thank you," I say whilst smiling a little. He just upturns a corner of his lip and shrugs his shoulders a bit. "Simon, look at me." He doesn't so I take his head in both of my hands now, "look at me." My voice isn't infuriated, but it sure is weak as hell.
His eyes ultimately glance up after much deliberation. "How did you know I was going to fall?" His eyes advert.
"I was listening to your heartbeat. It was getting progressively faster and faster, so I sped in here when it was reaching concerning."
"You can hear my heartbeat three rooms away?"
"I can hear it anywhere (Y/N), and I can sense when you're in danger. I just can't always read your emotions."
"Can you read them now?" He looks deeply back into my eyes and I see him scanning my features.
"No." I bring his head quickly closer to mine and kiss his lips before pulling apart, resting my forehead against his.
"How about now?"
"You want me still?" I nod my head against his. "Are you sure? Even after lying to you?"
"You didn't lie Simon, you just didn't tell me everything and yes I'm sure...I love you." For the first time in the kitchen tonight, I see him smile, but only for a second as I'm engulfed in a hug very shortly after.
He pecks the side of my head. "I'm sorry for not telling you."
Thank you so much for 19K, it's surreal! Also I am posting this early this week as I have to be at college for 7:15am for a Geography trip and don't get back till 8pm - wish me luck.
