When we got home Ms. Charsha set up the stuff in Seth's bedroom. I curled up in my bed, which Seth placed by the window. The sun quickly warmed my bed and myself, after I was almost asleep. I took a nap for about an hour before I woke up feeling hungry. Seth wasn't in his room so I got up and went to find Ms. Charsha in the kitchen reading a book, the title read War and Peace. I licked her hand. She set the book down and looked at me sweetly.

“What's wrong? Are you hungry?” She asked.

I yipped and nodded. She thought the nod was odd but still fixed me a bowl of dry food and water. I ate until I was full and lapped at the water to soothe my dry mouth. I licked my lips and stretched. I hadn't seen Seth for a while so I looked for him. Ms. Charsha saw me and I guess she knew what I was looking for.

“He's outside in his shed working on a project.” She told me.

I puffed a little air from my nose and went upstairs. I played with my toys. After a while I began with the around the floor and completely attacked one of the squeaky bones, tossing it in the air while laying on my back and chewing on it. Seth came in the room.

“Having fun?” He asked sarcastically.

I shifted into my human form wearing a form fitting V-neck t-shirt that was pure black and a pair semi-tight light blue jeans and the same knee-high black and white converses.

“Yes, I am actually. When I woke up I went downstairs. Your mother fed me and I went looking for you. She knew what I was looking for and told me you were in that shed of yours. So I came up here to play.” I said.

“Yeah, I just have a little project in there. Nothing special.” He shrugged.

“Oh well. It's noon so how about we go for a walk in the woods? I can create a fake me that will last until we get back.”

“Sure, meet you at the door.”

I made a wolf look-alike and jumped out the window. When I made it around to the door I knocked and Seth answered it. I asked about the walk again and he asked his mom.

“Sure Seth just be back before school starts.” She answered.

We left and I stopped at the edge of the woods.

“The statues aren't far from here. I'm going to shift.” I said.

Seth stepped back expecting the real me although that wasn't what I was shifting into. I shifted into a beautiful, strong, black deer. I must have looked rarer than the white deer. I was kind of large for a normal sized doe but I knew it was because of me being a Shape-Shifter.

“Let's go.” I told Seth.

“Wow. Your normally a predator but this is gorgeous.” he said running a hand down my back, admiring the shining black fur.

I shrugged and began walking forward. I felt Seth watching me as I walked a few feet ahead. My body's nature was telling me to run from him but I kept my movements smooth and graceful.

“What's it like?” Seth asked.

“What's, what like?” I replied, looking back at him confused.

“Being an animal, mainly my question is, what's it like being a Shape-Shifter?”

“Well, for starters, everything is so much clearer and our lives are secret. I remember somethings that were from old Shape-Shifter's. I guess because our bloodline had to start somewhere and Siobhan and I had to have gotten our powers from somewhere.”

“What do you remember?”

“Well I think that we were hunted for our skins and meat. According to the animal we were killed in.” I explained.
