Shape-Shifter's Promise

Chapter 25

Over the next few weeks the twins grew and advanced. We soon had them talking with excellent English and many other animal languages. By the fourth week they had finally begun to shift. They attempted many times to shift into wolves but couldn't hold it. But with a little practice they held their wolf forms. They had long black fur with a white swirling pattern on their tails and a thin white line going down their backs that seemed to start the swirls and with a thin white ring going around their necks that was almost invisible under the thick black fur. Their hair was different than normal. Aiden had a black mop top with dull blonde underneath the thick black and during the first few weeks of growth and when he slowed down I gave him a hair cut that was like the skater boys from the high school, and Freedom had the same but her hair was now knee length and just as straight as mine. Her hair was now as long as mine. After a while with their wolf forms Seth and I tried different animals, first we tried the Ancient form, then the deer form, and many more. All worked easily for them. One day we were out for a walk in the thick parts of the woods. The twins suddenly turned and made a playful move at us and took off. I knew they wanted to be chased so we took off after them. We laughed as the twins high pitched giggles carried over the wind. Freedom and Aiden had gotten ahead and weaved in the trees. As I followed this all seemed like a dream, two adults chasing their giggling children through the woods. Then was almost like a dream, I could see a vision. I froze in my tracks and locked up as it came down on me. I saw Aiden and Freedom looking back as they ran from us in slow motion and then it flashed like a television changing scenes and it flicked from Seth to me showing us laughing and running without our shoes as our hair bounced and flew back with the wind. I could hear the laughs and giggles like they were far away and almost in slow motion. The sounds echoed lightly and sounded far away. Then suddenly, we hit a meadow. When the meadow appeared I was shaken awake from my vision. The twins were pulling my arms with worried looks.

“Come on Mommy! Wake up!” Aiden called to me and Freedom to her father. It was then that I realized that Seth connected into my vision and locked up to.

When the vision ended I looked down into the blue eyes of my son and reached down really fast and tickled him. Seth did the same and as the twins took off with squeals when they got loose and we all toppled through the trees as we hit a meadow. I noticed it from my vision. It was huge and beautiful with golden leaves on some trees and others that looked like they were on fire with the reds. I picked up Aiden when Seth picked up Freedom and we spun around with them and fell back on the grass. The twins were still laughing when they rolled off our chests and into the grass. I turned to Seth and kissed him. We grinned as we heard our children giggling quietly in response to our kiss and we couldn't help but laugh.

“Seth?” I asked when we had calmed down.

“Yes,” He replied.

“I think we should go back to high school. It is almost Spring Break now. It is after all the middle of April. We could spend Spring Break at the beach. The twins would love it. What do you think?”

“Okay, We should tell Siobhan and Percy. Also we would have to go to a high school close to a school for them. They need a normal life too.” he said.

“Okay then let's get started. Come on we have to get home and change into some normal clothing.” I said.

We got up and left the meadow. After we got home the twins dozed on the couch so we went and changed them first. I put Freedom in a little pink t-shirt and a white skirt and walking shoes. Seth put Aiden in a gray t-shirt and a pair of blue-jeans and similar walking shoes. I went upstairs and changed into a tight, low-cut, black top, dark blue-jeans, and my knee-high converses. Seth got into a t-shirt that fit tightly to his muscled stomach,some light blue-jeans, and some black and white high-tops. His shoes weren't nearly as high as mine though. When we were ready we gathered up our sleepy children and went to get Siobhan and Percy and my siblings. I'd told Seth they needed to go to school too. After we got Siobhan and Percy we went to get my siblings. My siblings were running around their house playing with Max as the six of us walked up to my parents house. I looked at Max and Merry together as she tackled him, I had a vision of Merry and Max, older. In the vision Max had his hand on her waist and kissed her cheek. It was then that I realized that he was the boy I told Merry about when they came to live with us. When the vision ended she was jumping at him. As she hit him they toppled to the ground, laughing. I sent the vision to her with a message.

He is your mate to be... I thought to her.

Her eyes widened for a fraction of a second then she smiled, her long mahogany hair shimmering as she leaned down and kissed him lightly on the lips. His laughter stopped in its tracks as her lips brushed his. He looked at her as she stood, propping himself up on is elbows, his mouth gaping. She just smile, giggled once and ran over and ran over to hug me.

“Thank you!” She whispered as she hugged my waist.

“Don't do anything until I discuss this with you. Got it?”

“Yes, Mercy.”

She reached up to Seth for Freedom, who was now wide awake, and took her. She gave her niece a hug handed her back to Seth. Running back over to Max she yelled: “Wolf-pile on Max!” and they all jumped on him.

Seth and I laughed as they all landed on top of each other. I peeked in the door and told my parents about school and left. I turned to Merry who was only too happy to look back.

“Merry, you have two more years until you can trigger the vision. When you get your vision you must tell him because females are the only ones to have the vision, and I will have to help Kari in a few years because of the females only rule. So he won't know, but until then you can only flirt and possibly date but nothing else. Do you understand?” I said layering each word with the Alpha's voice.

“Yes, Mercy.” She replied.
