*Part Two: The Shape-Shifter's (Mercy's Story)*

I woke to see Siobhan standing in front of me.

Mercy? Is she okay? I heard.

“Yeah, yeah I'm fine.” I said, my voice rough.

“Mercy?” Siobhan said.

“Yes.”

“I didn't say anything.”

“Yes you did. You said my name and then you asked if I was okay to yourself.”

Hmm. I could have sworn I heard her say that. I thought to myself.

“Did you say something?” Siobhan suddenly asked.

“No I didn't say anything all I did was think about something.”

Holy crow! I just heard your thoughts. I think. Think something else.”

I miss my family.

“You miss your family.” she stated immediately after I thought it.

“Wow. Cool! Your turn.”

She was quiet for a minute.

“You are anxious to meet your mate.”

“Cool, it's like we can communicate like that.” she said.

I nodded. “It will come in handy.”

I stood up then, testing my stability, and when I was completely sure I was stable I closed my eyes and took a deep breath and suddenly felt stronger. When I opened my eyes I noticed that my head was higher up than before.

“Try to Shape-Shift into something.” I said.

“Um... what should I do?”

“Try thinking about something like a dragon and concentrate on it.”

Siobhan took a deep breath to clear her head and was silent. Almost immediately after she became silent there was a faint shimmer in the air. I noticed that the source of the shimmer was Siobhan, her body was trembling and gave off silent shimmering waves that made the air tremble along with her. This happened all in one minute. The next thing I knew, I was looking into a huge storm gray, snake-like dragon eye that was surrounded by golden scales. She blinked and I heard her voice inside my head.

You have got to try this! It is so cool! she thought.

I stood there and concentrated on a dragon and I felt the shimmering in the air as my body trembled and soon I was face to face with Siobhan. Since we were now the same species I attempted to talk to her.

“Lets see if we can fly!” I said and flapped my huge wings black wings.

We were soon airborne and were flying across the forest. As we looked down we saw a large herd of deer running across the field we were flying over. My mouth watered.

“I'm hungry lets try to catch the two largest deer in that herd. Shift into something small like a bee and follow them and when you get the chance quickly shift back to normal.” I said.

“Good idea” Siobhan said.

Soon we were bees and we buzzed to the strongest and largest bucks in the herd. They were still running so we had to fly fast too keep up. When we were close enough I used our mind-link to tell her when to shift.

When I count to three shift into your normal self and you should land on his back which seems like a good way to kill him because it will give us a good shot at his neck. I thought.
