Days later...

Kimberly ❤️

I fixed Jordan's bow tie as he stood in his room in his black suit. His hair was braided back in nice corn rolls. He looked really sharp.

Elijah was sitting on his bed, staring at some old pictures of Jeremiah.

"What would it take to hear his voice one last time mommy?" Jordan exclaimed.

"I'm still trying to figure that out sweetheart." I say, kissing the top of his head.

He sighs.

"I want him back mama." Elijah exclaimed.

"I know baby. Me too." I say, kissing his forehead.

He had braids in his hair too.

"You boys go sit downstairs while I get the others ready. Okay?" I say.

"Okay mommy." Both reply.

They both head downstairs. I walk to the twins room. They were both either working on their bow ties, or tying their shoe.

"Look at you two. Getting all dressed up on your own." I say.

They gave me sad smiles. I sigh.

"I know boys, I know." I say.

"We miss him." Jaylen said.

"Me too Jay." I say.

He looked down, continuing to adjust his bow tie.

"I think daddy may need some help with his. You both can help each other. Go ahead." I say.

He nods, making his way out of the room. I sat down on Jaylen's bed, across from Jayden. Out of them all, he took it the hardest. He was closest to Jeremiah.

"What's up baby boy?" I say.

"I want to hug him again. Just to let him know that everything is going to be okay." He said.

"I tried that Jayden. But he just couldn't hold on for much longer." I say.

He sighed. I kneel down in front of him.

"Hey, we're gonna get through this okay? Even if it means bawling our eyes out until we can't anymore." I say.

He nods.

"Come on, we gotta hurry up so we can get to the church." I say.

He nods again, standing up. He exits his room as I head out to Nicole's room.

I knock on her open door. She turns to face me.

"Hey baby girl." I say.

"Hey mom." She said.

"Are you ready?" I ask, folding my arms across my chest.

"Yes." She said.

I tilt my head to the side. I know when she's lying.

"No." She answered.

"Why not?" I ask.

"I'm not prepared for what's to come." She said.

"You wanna know a secret?" I say.

"What?" She asked.

"I'm not either." I say.

She giggled lightly, smiling. I smile back. She stood up and walked over to me, hugging me. I rub her back.

"We're in this together." I say.
