Chapter thirty-three

"I would've been safer with you around 5 years ago too, but you weren't there." Everyone looked hurt by my response. Jackson shifted uncomfortably, while the others played with their fingers.

I stormed out of the room feeling my hot, tears streaming down my face, I walked into my bedroom closing the door behind me, then leaning against the wall. Why would she come now? After all these years, why now? How did Jackson even know where she was, or how to contact her? Questions filled my mind, making a headache come to the surface.

"Maya?" I heard a knock from the other side of the door.

"Yes." I muffled, wiping the tears away.

"Maya.." I heard a voice from behind me, feeling arms wrap around from behind.

"I'm sorry .. I didn't mean it that way." I cry into his shoulder.

"I know, it's okay, you've been through a lot. It's all my fault too." Jackson says sadly, resting his chin on the top of my head.

I look up to him in shock, "No, don't say that. You're everything to me, and look where we are now, don't ever say that, Jackson I love you." holding his chiseled jaw in my hand.

"I love you too Maya." He says, leaning down, placing a soft kiss upon my lips. Smiling, we then walked out of the room, back towards the living room.

I see my mother pacing around the room as if waiting, as the others are still sitting in silence with sad and guilty looks on their faces.

I run up to my mom giving her a huge hug, feeling the tears pour out of my eyes even more. There was no need for words, just silence. She still smelled the same, the same scent I remember from my childhood.

"I love you." She whispers, "I love you too." I mumble.

I turn around, facing the old, once gang. Scratching the back of my head nervously, "I suck at apologies ... But I'm Sorry-"

"I LOVE YOU SO MUCH MAYA, IM SO SORRY FOR EVERYTHING!" Ty exclaimed, running up to me embracing me in a hug. I jolted back a bit not remembering how strong he was, Jackson let out a small chuckle in amusement. 

I just rolled my eyes at Ty, "Why are you so dramatic." I hug him back, causing everyone else to run over, joining the huddle of tears and joy.

"Ok, ok get off" Bud laughs, heading towards the kitchen. "Drink anyone?" Emma and Madison nod and follow Bud over to the island.

"I've really missed you guys..." Emma said looking down, "I wish we were all living together again, and sharing those memories, I remember when I first met Maya." She laughed, remembering the moment.

"Yeah, we all thought you were Jackson's stripper." Madison busted out laughing, drink in hand.

"Funniest moment ever." Ty laughed, "Seems like you kids have had fun." My mother said.

"You have no id-" Madison went to say but then fell to the floor, along with a loud shattering noise from the window, Madison crashed down causing her drink to go everywhere. 

"MADDY!" Ty panicked, running over to her. Blood filled his hands as blood rushed from Madison. Glass was everywhere but Ty didn't care.

Screams then filled the room when another window shattered and Amelia fell to the ground causing Bud to drop his drink and catch her before falling, "No, no, no! Amelia, you can't leave me again!" Bud cried out, 

"Everyone duck down now!" Jackson yelled, trying to guide everyone to the back room. Everyone dropped down, guiding each other to safety in the back room. There was a blood trail from the kitchen to the back bedroom.

Madison and Amelia cried out in pain, Madison holding her chest, and Amelia holding her stomach. Ty and Bud were hysterical holding their loved ones in their arms, blood everywhere. I noticed they had a few shards of glass stuck in them, but they were too concerned with their girls to care.

"Call 911!" I yell to anyone who has a cellphone, my mother frantically grabbed her phone and called.

I rush to Ty and Bud giving them blankets to clog the bleeding for the moment until the ambulance comes.

"Everyone stays here," Jackson whispered, walking to his closet and opening a safe. He grabbed a gun loading it, "I'll go out and find out who the fuck did this.", "I'll come too." Emma volunteered, longing faces went out to her, "I don't have anything to lose, I'll be fine." she reassured everyone, she nodded for Jackson to hand her some weapons. Jackson and Emma loaded up quickly.

"Be careful, please!" I say to Jackson, hugging him, "I will, for you and our little one." He says kissing me, then bending down to kiss my stomach, "you too Emma" I said hugging her.

They both nodded, before heading out the bedroom door.
