Chapter thirty-six

(Song above is what i was listening to writing this Chapter, I think it fits this book very well)

As I go to dismiss myself I felt a small grip on my hand, pulling me back to Jackson's bed. My face lit up, and tears of joy filled my eyes, "Doctor!!"

Maya's POV

I never thought I would see Jackson's gorgeous eyes again. I felt the world around me go to a stop, my stomach filled up with butterflies once again and it was like we were meeting all over again for the first time. Looking into his deep hazel eyes, I fell into a haze that I never wanted to get out of.

"It seems his broken ribs are healing, as well as his gun wound are healing correctly, we'll just have to change the bandages. But he will have to stay here a little longer to continue recovering and to make sure he's all set to go home without any severe issues." The tall doctor said, while examining Jackson.

My heart was pounding, feeling like it was going to bust out of my chest and my blood was coursing through my veins. I looked deep in Jackson's eyes, realizing how much I loved him, I never realized I could love someone this much.

"My love." Jackson whispered faintly, lifting his hand to touch my cheek.

"I've missed you." I cry out, embracing Jackson. My arms wrap around his neck, giving him the most passionate hug I've ever given. This moment felt so intimate, this was a moment that was now the most important and memorable to me.

"So you've decided on Toby?" Jackson smiles, letting out a soft laugh, due to the pain from his injury. I smile remembering I told him our little boy would be named Toby.

"Yes," I giggle, caressing Jackson's hand.

"I love it and I love our boy Toby," Jackson smiles.

"Hey you idiot!" I hear a voice from behind me.

It was Ty and Maddy at the door way, Maddy was in a wheelchair, and Ty had escorted her in. She had looked better from when I saw her earlier, and by the looks of things, Ty and her were doing better emotionally.

Jackson chuckled, "I'd rather go back to my coma now", I glared at him and hit him gently on the arm, Ty just laughed and Maddy smiled.

"Yeah, me too.. Things were a lot quieter, and I like when Maya is all feisty." Ty laughs, thinking he's so funny.

"Yeah, yeah, yeah" Jackson says, rolling his eyes. Well it seems that their personality never changes in any situation

"Where's bud?" Jackson asks, my face falls, "Amelia's in surgery or a coma? I'm not exactly sure right now.. But things aren't looking too good at the moment." I say sadly.

"Oh.." Was all Jackson managed to say. "What about Emma?? Where is she?"

Ty and I looked at each other, not knowing how to say "Emma died.",
"Umm.. That day you were shot.. Emma sacrificed herself for you .. She didn't make it Jackson." I say solemnly.

Jackson didn't say anything, he just looked out the window, then down at his hands. He probably didn't want to show any emotion, but I wasn't sure.
"It's not your fault love.. It's mine, I made Liz mad.. But Emma did it out of love and honor, and that's important .. She wouldn't want us to spend our time grieving, she'd want us to spend time loving and appreciating our loved ones." I say, holding Jackson's hand.

"I know." He responds flatly.

Jackson's POV

I was still in shock from what Maya told me, about Amelia, and now Emma. I can't believe Emma would do that for me, and for what? I knew it was out of love and honor, but why. She had so much to live for, even if she didn't think so. I'll never once go without thanking Emma for what she did, if not for her i wouldn't be alive and I wouldn't be able to be a father to Toby and a husband to maya, and I thank Emma for letting me have this opportunity to be and live with my loved ones.

"I want to try and walk." I say, I felt exhausted, weak and useless just sitting here doing nothing. I wanted to get out of this hospital, and the quicker I recover the better. Maya agreed, and she called the doctor in, who allowed me to take a walk through the hallways. Maya helped me off the bed, my ribs were still sore, and my legs felt weak when I stood on the cold, hospital floor. I kept my hands in Maya's while she helped me walk to the door.

"hahaha! You old man!" Tyler busted out laughing, making Maddy giggle a little bit.

"Even though I've just gotten out of a coma, I'll still kick your ass." I glare playfully, Ty laughed as he pushed Maddy's wheelchair alongside of me, while Maya helped me walk. It was nice to walk around after being in bed for what seems like years.

We reached the waiting room to where  bud and Maya's mom had been.
