From that night on, they both almost always went hand in hand. You would rarely ever see the two apart. They were happy with each other. They wanted to be with each other forever, but remember the smallest things can crush a relationship.

Yes, in school they were given grief about it, but they honestly did not care. It was their sacrifice for one another.

Like usual they walked down to the alley. They talked, laughed, and talked some more, until Star had to leave. She had to take care of her mother. Well, not really take care of her, just make sure she does not go out and do something stupid. Jamie knew nothing about any of it. He often wondered why she always had to leave at a certian time, but he never asked. Well, not until this day.

"Star where do you always have to go?"

"Um... I have to go home. Why?"

"Well, I have just been wondering. So.. can I ask why you always have to leave at this time?"

"Um... I... have to take care of my mother."

"What's wrong with your mom?"

"Um... she's uh... she can't see well in the dark."

Jamie knew right off that she was lying to him. He wanted to know why she felt like she had to hide. He said nothing about it though. He just went along with it.

Star stood up and Jamie did the same.

"But I gotta go. I love you, and see you tomorrow?" Star said smiling, and taking hold of both of Jamie's hands.

Jamie smiled back and nodded.

They kissed and Star started walking.

Jamie stood in place for a while, but he wanted to know why she lied to him. He put his hood up and started following her.
