Chapter 10

Kira and I walked around for awhile when we walked past the barn. Shane wouldn't leave the barn.

"Kira I want you to stay away from him ok." I said

"Why he seems nice." she said

"He's a bad man." I said and we walked towards the RV.

"Hey Carol can you watch Kira." I said

"Sure sweetie." she said and walked off with Kira

I walked into the RV and looked at the calendar.

"What are you lookin at?" Carl said as he walked in the RV.

"It's nothing important." I said

"It's important to me." he said

"Fine my birthdays next week." I sighed

"How is that not important?" he asked

"It just isn't ok." I snapped and walked out

I looked for Sophia for a couple hours before deciding to head back to the farm.

--Carl's POV--
How could her birthday not be important? I thought as I walked to the farmhouse. I walked in and saw Hershel.

"Hey Hershel can I need to ask you something?" I said and sat down

"What is it?" he said looking up

"Cherokee and I were talking about how it's her birthday next week but she says its not important, and I wanted to get her something." I said really fast

"So you need a present for her." he said

"Yes." I sighed

"Follow me." he said and walked upstairs

We walked into the master bedroom. He went to the closet and took out a box. He opened it and took out a charm necklace.

"I gave it to my wife last year for her birthday." he said and handed it to me

"Why are you giving me this?" I said putting it down

"My wife won't mind." he said and walked out of the room.

I put the necklace in my pocket and ran outside. I started looking for Cherokee when I saw her climbing a tree.

--Cherokee's POV--

I was sitting in a tree when I heard a snap. I turned around and saw Carl.

"What are you doing here?" I snapped

"I just came to see you." He said

"Fine."i sighed

We sat in silence for a couple of minutes when Carl finally spoke.

"Hey Cher?" he said quietly

"Yeah." I said and looked over

"Would it be ok if I kissed you right now?" he said

I looked over at him and smiled. We started leaning in and our lips brushed lightly but only for us to pull away when we heard a scream. We cloned down the tree and ran to the group.

"What was that?" T-Dog asked

I looked around and couldn't find Kira.

"Where's Kira?" I yelled at Carol

"She was here a minute ago." Carol said quietly

I looked around and saw Shane sneaking into the house. I started running around looking for Kira. I ran into the stables and saw Kira with stab wounds all over her stomach. I picked her up and started running towards the house.

"Herschel!" I screamed and ran as fast as I could.

Everybody started running towards me.

"Shane." I heard Kira whisper before she passed out.
