Chapter 23

--WARNING SOME GRUESOME IN THIS CHAPTER!--

"They should be back by now." I said

"Just relax Cher they'll be back here anytime." Carl said reassuring me

"I don't know, I think I should go try to find them." I said getting up

"Cherokee what are you doing?" he questioned and jumped up

"I'm going to find them and see if they're ok Carl he's my dad." I yelled

"My dad's there to Cherokee not just yours." he yelled

"But he's my family!" I snapped

"We're your family Cher, Kira's your family, Glenn, Maggie, Carol, Beth, Hershel, my dad, me. We're family and we've got to stick together." he snapped

"I don't care I'm gonna go find them." I snapped and walked out of the cell

I walked by Hershel.

"Hello Cherokee." he smiled

"Leave me alone." I grumbled and pushed past him

I walked up to the gate. Beth opened it for me.

"Make sure he don't follow." I told her looking back at the prison to see Carl standing outside

"Ok." she said shutting the gate

I'd been walking for awhile until I heard a snap. I turned around. I was then tackled. I looked up and saw a group of men.

"Claimed." I heard one of them say

He then started to kiss me.

"Get off me." I snapped trying to push him off

"Oh look boys a fighter." he said unbuckling his belt

I heard a gunshot, and one of the men fell to the ground.

"Get him up. I'll find you later sweetheart." He said kissing me

They got up and left. I looked around and saw someone hiding in the trees. A girl about my age with a dog walked out. I jumped up.

"Who are you?" I asked

"You tell me first." she snapped

"Cherokee Rose Dixon." I said

"Bailey Frost, and this is my dog Bo." she said gesturing to the dog

"Are you alone?" I asked

"Yep!" she said

"Are you?" she asked back

"Yeah, well I have a group I'm just trying to find my dad." I said

"Well I best get going." she said and started walking

"Wait." I said

She turned around.

"There's a prison a couple of miles away you could go there, tell them I sent you." I said

"We'll see." she said and started walking away

After she left I started walking again until I heard voices. One of them sounded like...

I turned around and saw someone who I never thought I'd see again.

"Uncle Merle?" I asked

"Well well well if it ain't lil Dixon." he said

"Cherokee Rose Dixon what the hell are ye doin out here." my dad snapped

"Trying to find you." I said innocently

"C'mon." he said pulling me along

"Aren't we goin to the prison?" I asked

"Nope you're damn Uncle ain't wanted there." he snapped

We started walking. They kept arguing. I heard crying.

"You hear that?" asked my dad

"Yeah sounds like wild animal gettin wild." Uncle Merle said

I face palmed.

"Sounds like a baby." dad said

He started running towards the sound, we followed him. We got to a bridge and saw a family surrounded by walkers. Dad and I started killing walkers.

"C'mon a**whole come help." my dad yelled at Uncle Merle

We killed all the walkers. Uncle Merle started looking in the car.

"Let em go." said dad

He kept looking.

"Get out of the car. He looked at the family. "Go get out of here." he said

"What you doin pointin that thing at me." Uncle Merle said

They started fighting.

"I bet you never told him that we were planning on robing them blind." Uncle Merle said

"We didn't." said dad

"Yeah because you didn't have me to help you." Uncle Merle said

"Just like we were kids." dad snapped

"Is that why I lost my hand." yelled Uncle Merle

"You lost yer hand cause yer a simple minded piece of sh**. dad yelled

Uncle Merle tackled dad. His shirt got torn. He stopped what he was doing.
I looked and saw scars.

"Yeah he did, and he did the same to you." dad said putting his jacket on

"Man I had to, I would've killed him other wise." Uncle Merle said

"C'mon Cher." my dad said pulling me away

"We're you goin?" Uncle Merle asked

"Back where we belong." dad said

"I can't go with you, damn near killed the Chinese kid." Uncle Merle said

"He's Korean." dad and I said at the same time

"Whatever." Uncle Merle said

"You know I may be the one walkin away, but you're the one leavin, again." dad said

We started walking. We made it to the prison when I heard gun shots. We saw Rick in trouble we ran over there. We killed all the walkers.

We walked up to the prison. Kira and Allison ran up to me.

"We thought you left us." said Kira

Carl walked up to me.

"Cherokee." he said

I hugged him.

"I'm sorry." I said

"Cher you're hurt. he said

I looked down and saw blood. The last thing I saw was black.
