Chapter five

We went to bed a few hours later. When we woke up we went to our rooms and got dressed. My dad was passed out on a cot. I went to the kitchen with Carl and Sophia. T-dog gave us some eggs. My dad and Rick came in.

"Are you hungover? Mom said you'd be." said Carl

"Mom is right." said Rick taking some aspirin Jenner gave us.

Shane walked in with three giant scratchs on his face.

"What happend to you?" my dad asked

"Must have did it in my sleep." said Shane looking at Lori.

"I haven't known you to do that before." said Rick

Seriously Rick open your eyes how can you not see there was something going on between your wife and best friend.

I heard a groan.

"Hangovers suck don't they Glen." I said

"Never let me drink again." he moaned

My dad walked in and stole my bacon. I poked him with a fork.

"Keep yer hands off my bacon." I snapped and handed him some aspirin

Carl,Sophia and I were looking around the kitchen for some snacks.

"Jackpot!" I screamed in triumph.

"What did you find?'' said Sophia

"Pop tarts!" I started jumping up and down.

We went into Carl's room and ate our pop tarts. Lori was feeling the air conditioner.

"Everything ok?" Carl asked

"Yeah.'' said Lori looking worried

Then the lights went off.

Jenner brought us into the computer room for a meeting. He was talking about how's there's nothing left and it be better for us to stay. He pressed a code into a computer and locked the door.

"He just locked us in!" screamed Glen

Sophia and Carl started crying.

"What happens when the clock hits zero?" asked Dale

"A full decontamination occurs." Jenner said

"You're gonna blow us up!" I screamed

Everybody looked at me.

"Yeah I know stuff." I snapped

My dad tried to break open the door.

"Those doors are meant to withstand a rocket launcher." said Jenner

"Well your head ain't." my dad said as he ran toward Jenner with an axe.

Rick stopped him.

"If he dies we die." Rich said
