Chapter 17

I walked out of Carols cell and downstairs. I heard yelling. I ran over to the cell block door. Carl opened it and everybody ran in. I saw Hershel was bit.

"Carol!" I screamed and ran upstairs

"What is it?" she asked

"Hershel bit." I cried

She ran downstairs and into the cell they put Hershel in.

"Kira I want you to stay here ok." I told her

"Ok." she said

I went downstairs and into the cell Hershel was in. I stood in the doorway next to Carl.

"What we need is antibiotics, sterile gauze, and crutches." Lori said

"I know you're scared." said Carol

"Do I look scared?" Asked Lori

"You look disgusting." said Carol

"Foods here." I heard T-Dog call

Carl opened the door and the guys started carrying in boxes of food. Carl and I started putting the food away. When we were done we were standing at the doorway looking at Hershel. Carl pulled me away.

"We should go find the infirmary." he said

"I know we should but we don't know what's out there." I said

"C'mon you've always trusted me." he said

"Fine lets go." I sighed

We snuck out of the cell block and tried to find the infirmary. We took down a couple walkers on the way. We finally found the infirmary. We started throwing as much as we could into the bag. When the bag was full we started walking back. We walked into the cell block.

"I thought you guys were organising the food?" Glenn asked

"Even better." Carl said as we walked in the cell

"Check it out." He said and sat the bag down

"Where did you guys get this?" asked Lori

"We found the infirmary." I said

"You went by yourselves?" Lori asked

"No big deal we killed two walkers." Carl said

"Alright do you see this, this is with the whole group." said Lori

"We needed supplies." Carl said

"I appreciate that." Lori said

"Then get off my back!" Carl yelled

"Carl! She's your mother." said Beth

"I think it's great you guys want to help but." Lori said as Carl ran out of the room

I gave her an apologetic look and ran after him.

"Carl!" I yelled

"What?" he asked

"Why'd you do that?" I asked

"She's always on my back." he said

"I know that Carl she's trying I protect you." I said

"She treats me like I'm a baby." he said

"Well it's better than her not paying attention to you at all." I said

I walked away and back into the cell. I stood next to Beth.

"I need your help." Carol told Glenn

"I can't leave him." he said

"Go on." said Lori

They left. A couple of minutes later I looked at Hershel.

"Maggie he's not breathing." I cried

Beth came in.

"What's happening?" she asked

She looked at Hershel.

"Do something! Somebody help!" she cried

Lori ran in. She started giving him CPR. All of the sudden his hand shot up and grabbed her. We pulled her away. He started breathing again.

The guys came in a while later.

"Hershel stopped breathing, mom saved him." Carl said

Rick walked into the cell. Carl and I were standing by the door. All of the sudden Hershel opened his eyes.

"Daddy?" Maggie asked

Lori walked out of the cell, Rick walked out after her.
