Harry's POV
I woke up the next morning with my arms wrapped around her, my face buried in her neck as she took deep breaths. Her fingers were tangled in my hair and an instant smile spread across my face.
Madeline was a strong girl. That was, without a doubt, true. But she fought so hard against herself that she wouldn't let herself have anything. She thought that she didn't deserve anything, but to me, she deserved everything. I was so in love with her but she couldn't let me love her because she didn't love herself.
I pulled her closer to me, kissing her forehead softly.
Sure, in the two years we were apart I had a couple of hookups, but it could never be anything more because it was always Madeline. I fell so hard for her that I can't even get up.
She stirred awake, going to raise a hand to her forehead when she hit me right in the face. I grumbled, rubbing a hand over the spot where she hit me.
"Oh, shit," she said, looking up at me before laughing. "Sorry."
"No 'good morning' or 'hello', just a lovely smack in the face." I chuckled, pulling back to look at her.
She continued to laugh as she took my face in her hands, pressing her lips against my nose, and then my cheek.
"There, better?"
I took the opportunity and leaned forward, pressing my lips against hers. I could feel her hesitation but started to kiss me back, my hands on her hips as I pulled her against me.
She pulled back, her eyes still closed. "We can't do this."
I pressed my lips into her neck, ignoring her. She hummed but started to pull away.
"Harry, we can't do this."
I pulled back to look at her as she started to sit up. My hands held her hips down as I met her brown eyes.
"Why not?" I asked her.
"Because we have a tour, Harry, you know how-"
"The tour was perfectly fine last time, you love me, right?"
She met my eyes and sighed. "You know I do."
"Then what's wrong with this?" I asked as I kissed her lips again.
"I.." she trailed off, sighing again. "I'm not good with words."
"Say anything, El, what's going on in that beautiful mind?"
"You're absolutely perfect, you're so good to me and I-I- it's hard to," she started before pulling back. "I am not worthy of your love, Harry."
I furrowed my eyebrows as my hands went to her face. "That is not true."
She started to shake her head. "I am just a normal girl who can't trust anyone, my last boyfriend was a complete fuck up, but you, you're perfect. You're amazing and you're the best part of me, and I don't deserve you."
