Prompt: When Karson punched a teacher on his first day
A.N.- Alright, now I can finally post this without spoiling Karson's backstory!
                              --------------------------------
Karson Wylie was angry, and he was scared, and he was angry that he was scared.
He didn't want to be at this Academy, wearing this hideous maroon vest. He wanted to be home with his dad, making sure his dad was okay.
But instead, his brother had gotten him hauled off to Constance Academy, and it was a nightmare. Today was Karson's first day here, but he'd met his roommate, and the guy was a drunk who kept vodka filled water bottles hidden in his backpack.
On top of that, he could already tell this place didn't treat the Maroon students well. He'd gotten here early enough to move his stuff into his room with his dad and meet his roommate, but he'd also had the pleasure of seeing his roommate get punched by a Blue just for forgetting to tuck in his shirt when they left for class.
Karson followed his roommate, Jin, into their first class of the day. The two had the same schedule, and the man in charge of their dorm building had made it Jin's job to take Karson to all his classes today.
"This is the new guy," Jin said to the teacher as they entered their class.
Karson had a feeling Jin was used to hiding the extent of his alcohol consumption. Despite drinking pretty deep from his vodka water bottle, his words were hardly slurred, his balance was fair enough, and his focus only required a little squinting.
"That's me, the new guy. I don't have a name or anything," Karson said. "Unless you're just too brain damaged to remember it."
                                              Jin shrugged. "Probably."
"Karson Wylie?" the teacher said, looking down at his attendance sheet. "I looked over your file. If you're any trouble in my class, I won't hesitated to send you to Mr. Constance to be dealt with."
"Is that supposed to be a threat? As the new guy, I don't know how shit works yet," Karson pointed out.
"Mr. Con..." Jin cleared his throat like he was going to cough, though Karson figured he'd probably lost his focus finally. "Mr. Constance is the Academy heir, supposed to be the guy who handles the problem kids and beats them down or something. He's not a big deal."
The teacher curled his lip in disgust and smacked Jin with his clipboard. "He's well acquainted with you by now, Amano." He pointed at a desk. "Take a seat next to Jin there, and don't cause me any problems."
Karson followed Jin and took a seat. He leaned over his desk a little towards his inebriated roommate.
"What's this dude's name?" he asked, nodding at the teacher.
                                              "Mr. Tine," Jin said.
                                              "Jin!"
They looked up at the angry Maroon. He had his hands on his hips, a girl peeking over his shoulder at Jin.
"I can smell the vodka," the boy hissed. "If they catch you drinking again, you'll be in trouble."
"I hardly drank," Jin said dismissively.
"Is chugging half a water bottle full of vodka hardly drinking?" Karson said.
"This is Karson. I'm stuck with him as a roommate. He doesn't shut up," Jin introduced.
"Oh, he's kind of cute!" the girl said. "Maybe it's the glasses. Glasses are cute."
The boy put his hand over her mouth. "I'm Lev. This is Amelia."
Karson looked around curiously. "I don't...I don't see where I asked..."
"All of you sit down!" Mr. Tine snapped.
Lev and Amelia scurried away to their seats. Mr. Tine started up his lesson, and Karson felt his attention drift away almost instantly. He stared past the rows of desks and out the window at the campus. Hopefully his brother couldn't keep him trapped here for long. Surely his dad wouldn't let Aspen keep him at the Academy.
Karson's attention was forced back as a ruler smacked against his hand hard enough to make him wince. He glared up at Mr. Tine.
"Pay attention, Karson," he said angrily. "A violent boy like you will need extra effort to stay in line at this Academy. Your father clearly couldn't handle a monster like you, but I run this classroom and you'll learn to be an attentive student who does what he's told."
Karson stood up slowly, feeling a grin curve on his face, feeling anger rushing through him, terrible and uncontrolled. He clenched his fist at his side.
"I'm a peaceful guy, except when you piss me the fuck off, asshole," he said, and let his fist fly forward.
He struck Mr. Tine in the face and Mr. Tine stumbled backwards. Jin raised an eyebrow, the closest thing to an expression Karson had seen from him so far. He almost seemed a little impressed.
"You..." Mr. Tine grabbed a fistful of Karson's hair and yanked him forward so hard Karson thought his hair might tear out of his skull. Mr. Tine dragged him to the front of the room and grabbed the phone, dialing a number. "This is Henry Tine, I need a security guard. A new student assaulted me."
He hung up the phone and punched Karson in the face. Karson felt that giddy excitement of a fight welling up in him. He wanted to beat Mr. Tine until he was kicked out of this school.
But a security guard rushed into the room and restrained Karson's arms. He yanked Karson towards the door.
"Nice to meet you, fucko!" Karson called as he was pulled from the classroom.
Well, his first day of class was certainly more interesting than he'd expected it to be.
