Trapped (part 1)

✨Your POV✨

The pain is indescribable. But it's felt in every burnt part of my skin. I want to scream, not that it would help, all I can do is cry. Tears spill out of my eyes as I lay in a heap on the smooth white floor. I can tell Keith is knelt beside me. He didn't know what to do, I didn't know either. I just want it to stop, all of the pain. "Help please! She's injured! Please anyone!" Keith shouts banging on the walls. I roll onto my back my arms suspended awkwardly in the air to keep my burns from touching anything. I feel two arms delicately slip around me waist. Keith gently pulls me onto his lap, my head resting on his legs. "Hey, it's okay. This is all my fault. I should have never-"

"Shut up, I'll be okay space mullet." I try to say with a smile, but it's over come seconds later by another grimace.

"Space mullet?" He laughs, "I guess it's been awhile since I last cut my hair." Tenderly he wipes my tears as I close my eyes and slip into darkness.

-----TIME SKIP-----

Steadily I blink open my eyes blinded by the illuminated room. A loud pounding echoes to my left. "Keith?" I moan tilting my head in the direction of the sound. I see him turn towards me.

"You're awake." He whispers sitting beside me. The pain comes rushing back. I wish I could fall into a state of unconsciousness again, just to end the pain for a little while more. An orange light fills the room blinding the both of us temporarily. It quickly disappears and now in the center of the room lies a tray full of some yellow stuff. Keith goes over to it cautiously smelling its contents. "It doesn't smell horrible." Carefully I sit up looking at him.

"We need to find a way out of here soon." I say. Glancing around the room I notice that there aren't any exits. "They must have a transporter, that's the only way we could have been brought here. I thought the orange light in the ship knocked us out, but instead it transported us here." I finish looking expectantly at Keith. For a minute he does nothing but stare at me in confusion. "Knock on the walls." I suggest. He pounds on the foreign matter. When he reaches the right most wall the pitch changes ever so slightly. His bayard appears in his hand swiftly transforming into a red sword. He pin points his target area and plunges his sword into the wall. But it doesn't penetrate the surface. Then another flash of orange light. My surroundings had changed into an all grey room. There was a table, a door, and a window. Shaking I stand up thankfully without any new burns. The doors slide open and a two tall hooded figures step through. Just as the doors are sliding together Keith throws a small blade between the two preventing the doors from shutting completely. The cloaked figures glide towards us.

"Climb on my back." He whispers hastily as he bends down before me. I slip my arms and legs around him. He stands up the figures drawing closer. "Do you trust me?"

"Yes" I whisper back. Then he sprints toward the window breaking it with his sword. The air in the room is being swept out into space. The figures go flying towards it pulled unwillingly. We near the door. He pushes the dagger sideways allowing the door to slide open just enough to squeeze through. Taking the short blade he hands it to me. Running down the hall lights fly past in a beautiful array of color. A flicker of hope ignites inside me. Maybe this is where I'm meant to be after all, with team Voltron.
