Distress Call

🌸Allura's POV🌸

"Coran?" I ask entering the room my dress flowing behind me. "What is it, you called?" Just moments earlier he had been yelling about some signal.

"Princess, I've received...uh"

"Oh for quiznaks sake spit it out!" I've been in a rather terrible mood all morning. I didn't get enough sleep.

"Sorry, erm I just received a distress signal, from a plant called Terran." He says rubbing the back of his neck.

"A distress signal, are you sure?"

"Yes. They are in a neighboring solar system, what do you want to do?" He asks pulling up a holographic image of the planet. It was entirely red and brown and didn't appear to have any signs of life. I frown, perhaps this was all I mistake. This planet appears to be uninhabited.

"Keith could you come to the bridge for just a tick." I say over the castle intercom. A few ticks later he arrives in full uniform carrying his red lined helmet up against his right hip. "We received a distress signal from a near by planet. Would you like to help them?" Keith appears slightly taken aback by my question. I hope I'm not putting to much pressure on him. No he needs to learn. He nervously looks around avoiding eye contact with me. "Please do what your instincts tell you to do. Usually they are right, even if it hasn't seemed that way lately."

"I think we should help. We need to help anyone we can." He affirms looking content with himself.

"Alright Coran, notify the other Paladins and have them ready to go." With that Coran calls for the others while Keith and I wait. I move closer to him. "I'm glad you made that decision." He nods looking away again. He's lost his way, I hope he finds it soon. The other Paladins arrive with (y/n) still wearing the dress I had lent her. "(Y/n) if your going to help then you'll need proper dress. Come with me." I lead her out of the room and into one of the old storage rooms. "Here!" I press the button before me and a pod pops up containing another suit but with grey instead of a designated color. I leave the room letting her change. She comes out well suited and ready."and last but not least, I think you find these to your liking." I hand her two daggers I grabbed on the way out. The blades were light blue and has a white handle, the mark of an Altean weapon. We hurry back to the front of the ship. As we walk in everyone begins to stare. She's really one of us now. For better, or for worse.

"Princess, we're here." The planet comes into view. It really did look dead, no green, no blue.

"Where's the distress signal coming from?" Keith asks taking a step forward to see the planet.

"From what looks like a city, here are the coordinates." Coran pulls them up and the paladins commit them to memory.

"Alright Paladins to your lions, (Y/n) go with Keith in the red lion." She looks slightly fearful, I mean, I would be too. She's only had bad experiences with the red lion, but Keith is the best pilot she will be the safest with him. They all rush out and to their lifts. I watch them beaming. We were getting back, back to fighting. The lions glide down to the surface and disappear out of sight. "Coran." I start. He turns away from the glowing control panel. "Are we really ready to fight?"

"Princess, that I don't know. Without Voltron it's going to be difficult. I think you need to find a new pilot for the black lion. Have you seen if (y/n) can connect with a lion?" No. That idea hadn't occurred to me before.

"No, but when she returns, I will." Coran nods and turns away from me. Shiro, I will find you. I don't care how long it takes, but we will be reunited. I can't lose you, I've already lost so much. I know you're out there. Somewhere.

"Princess, the lions have reached the surface."
