Part 2 ~ Chapter 21 ~ Shiro

🌸Allura's POV🌸

"Shiro?" My voice bounces off the walls of the hallway as I sprint towards the room. I stop myself stumbling slightly as I reach the metallic door. Gently I tap my knuckles against the metal. No sound. Slightly more forcibly I knock again, still I can only hear my shaking breath. No. Please. No. I dig my fingers into the door ripping it open. Inside lay a man who once proudly stood before me. His soul and maybe even heart was shattered into pieces. Slowly he tilts his head finding my silhouette. His dark eyes meet mine. But when I stare back, I see nothing. In that moment, I understood.

This man was not broken, he was shattered. Lost. Scratching to pick up the pieces. Holding them together with the almost empty bottle of glue.

I find myself kneeling down beside him. I'm not exactly sure what to do to comfort him. So I sit. Whether it has been hours or seconds it doesn't matter anymore. Suddenly his body collides with mine causing me to fall back. My back hits the floor and on top of me, collapsed, is Shiro. Tenderly I wrap my arms around him pulling him close. "What happened?" I whisper my voice fading. He doesn't respond. His hot breath smooths along my neck as I nuzzle my face in his. Eventually he moves off of me sliding his hand down the back of my arm and interlocking it sweetly with my fingers. He stands up not letting go pulling me to my feet.

And then it happens.

All so...suddenly.

The lights flicker off.

And I'm left holding on. Face to face. As two dim yellow lights reveal themselves in the dark.
