Reunion
✨Your POV✨
It's happening. It's really happening. They found me. But something nags at me. If Shiro didn't know who I was, then they weren't looking for me. No that's a good thing, if they were to get hurt in the processes of saving me, I'd never forgive myself.
The pod door lifts. Shiro takes my hand pulling me to my shaking feet. For a split second I don't dare to look, in fear that something had happened after I left. My eyes take in the room. Then something overcomes my body and I jump and run. Run to the boy I left. His arms find their way around me and I pour everything into him. I pull him closer to me determined never to let go. Here we stand, for seconds, minutes. "Did you forget me?" I whisper as tears slip out of my eyes, rolling down my bruised face. I feel the warmth of his body slipping away from me as he steps back. He looks at me. He isn't smiling, not even a flicker of happiness lies within his dark eyes. Moving forward he snakes his arms tenderly around my waist.
"I don't think I can." Gently he presses his lips to my forehead. I fall into his chest, my tears making stains. I'm not sure why I'm crying,
I can't control it. My cut hands grasp at his shirt clinging on for dear life.
"You know who she is?" Shiro asks in the distance removing his black lined helmet. "How?"
"We found her on the planet where we landed, it was just after you had disappeared..." Pidge trails off looking down awkwardly.
"Why wasn't I informed of this?" Shiro says crossing his arms. I step back relinquishing my grasp on Keith's shirt.
"Because it never came up." Keith says his raspy voice echoing against the walls of the bay.
"Keith, you need to keep all of your team members updated at all times! What if she had been a spy and I had rescued her and brought her here. You must think like a leader now."
"Well maybe I don't want to be the leader! You know it's always been what you want! 'Keith I want you to pilot the black lion!' Did you ever take a minute to think about what I wanted. For once in my life I have a real family, at least I thought I did. And you know what, after we stopped Lotor from getting the piece of the teludav, I felt like I could become a real leader. So Shiro, if you want to be the leader, then be the leader. Thank you for rescuing (Y/n), but that doesn't mean I agree with you." I look back at Keith. His fists were ghostly from being clenched so tight. The footsteps beat on the floor as he walks out of the room. I feel a warm hand on my shoulder and turn to see Lance.
"He'll come around. He just needs sometime to sort out his emotions." I nod, though I worry. I thought he was emotionally messed up when I first met him. With Shiro back I assumed he'd be, happy. But now it seems like he is more damaged than ever. Maybe Shiro wasn't supposed to find me.
Maybe Keith wasn't supposed to see me again. Had he accepted what I had done? But by returning-
I pull Lance into a hug. "Thank you." I whisper. But I don't mean it. And I don't want to cry. I should go.
