Terran
✨Your POV✨
The stars glitter outside the window of the red lion. Like a silk sheet the light falls across the cock pit illuminating his face. His brow furrows slightly as we near the red planet below. We sit in agonizing silence that fills my lungs by the second. Eventually they would close up and I wouldn't be able to breathe. Then it all evaporates. "Do you hate me?" He asks his voice low and raspy. Not breathing I look at him. Days ago he ran into my life, unknowingly, and I unconsciously accepted him. The moment I went with him.
"No." I whisper. Was he that broken inside. To think he had done so much wrong that someone hated him. "I can't." Wit surprise he looks back at me from his seat. Our eyes meet. I take a step forward seating myself in front and to the left of him. "I don't know you. Hate is a strong emotion, to truly hate someone, you have to first know them. Plus I have no reason to hate you. Everything you've done was with good intentions, it just ended badly." I hear him release the air from his lungs.
"Do you want to get to know me?" The feeling comes again. Dryness in my throat, my breaths shallow. What do I call this? Anticipation.
"Yeah." My fingers tap against my thigh anxiously. We near the planet's atmosphere. Keith says something to the others but my ears have become full of water. I'm unable to hear anymore. What's wrong with me!? The next thing I know we have stopped moving. Keith stands up his figure now cloaked by the darkness that glazed the sky. He extends his armored hand toward me. Delicately I take it and I pull myself to my feet. Our hands part and in perfect synchronized motion we slip the helmets over our heads and leave the lion. The ground below is dirt but everything is still dark. Except for his face before me the blue glow of the helmet lighting it up. Walking forward the others part with their lions. We move into the night. We reach the coordinates of the distress signal. A large metal wall looms above us, with not a single door in sight.
"Pidge can you get a visual?" Keith mutters careful not to speak too loudly in fear of being discovered. Using the jets that rest on the back of her suit she kicks off the ground jumping onto the top of the wall.
"All clear, there isn't anyone, it looks like a ghost town." She reports back.
"Allura? Are there any galra ships near by?" Keith asks analyzing the landscape around us.
"Not that we can see, I'll send out a long range sensor to be sure. I think that it's safe to advance." With that Hunk and Lance both blast off. I look at Keith nervously. Does my suit even have jet packs!? Then without warning two arms wrap around the small of my back and pull me up against his chest. I wrap my arms around his neck burying my face in his shoulder. Then my feet leave the ground below. I'm in the air suspended. But I'm not alone someone is there. Then the feeling disappears as my feet touch the metal wall. I lift my head everyone was staring at me, but I don't know why. The red paladin pushes me away from him. But he doesn't let go. Just as they did before his hands glide to my cheeks and wipe away the tears that I didn't realize I had. I was crying. I didn't know why, but I felt good. In that moment I knew, out here, in space. In a world that I did not know and had no rules, I was finally free. So I take the hand of the boy infront of me and I pull him off of the wall. A rush rolls over my body. Exhilaration courses through my veins. In those seconds that we fall towards the ground his face moves from terrified to, happiness. His jets power on slowing our landing. But this time the spell had not been broken. This time I knew how I felt. I let go of his hand and with the others we move on into the village that was enclosed. Then a rustle is heard in the distance and well all turn out attention towards the sound. A woman like figure steps out from behind a hut. She throws herself to the ground cowering.
"Please! Don't hurt us anymore! We've done all you asked, my people are dying!" She pleads. Her skin is a light powder blue and her hair flows a dark shade of purple in long braids from her head. She looks up shaking her emerald eyes full of terror.
"We aren't here to harm you, we are here to help." Lance says helping her to her feet. She takes a look at Lance who is smiling cockily and jerks her hand away from his.
"We received your distress signal. We are the paladins of Voltron, how can we help?" Keith says.
"My name is Marnie, we are the people of Terran. The galra imprisoned us here to act as salves. You see my people can see into the, how do I put this, future, but not exactly. We can see the different realities, but we don't know which one will occur or the events leading up to the end result. They want us to help find things. But we are growing weak, they've cut the food supply in half and we are starving. We need to escape or else we will die. Please." She puts her hand on her chest lowering her head. Suddenly a siren goes off in the distance and a force field covers the top of the wall. Oh no. "Role call will start soon, you must hide. Here this way."
