Space Goo!

🌸Allura's POV🌸

Shiro, please come back. I can't pretend it's all okay anymore. What did Zarkon do to you? My palms were becoming sweaty and my heart rate was increasing by the tick. What's happening to me! "Allura!" A voice calls in the distance of the hallway which I call my home. That sounds like...

"Shiro!" I shout back running down the hallway my footsteps echoing behind me.

"Allura!" Calls the voice again. Keith runs just around the corner. My heart sinks. How foolish of me, I knew of course that he was not here, yet a small shred of me held hope that he was.

"I'm sorry, I thought-" Color rushes to my cheeks.

"It's fine, but I do need to talk to you." He mumbles his head pointed down. "I don't think we should keep (y/n) on board for much longer, especially if we plan to resume our fight."

"Keith, honestly right now I think everyone needs some time to recover, we just fought Zarkon face to face."

"And now we are cowering like children! Everyday people are dying and I can guarantee that Earth will be next! Allura we cannot just wait around for Shiro to come back!" His face was now dark. Shiro disappearing has fully broken him, and me too.

"Keith. Listen to me, she is going to stay on board. For all we know she could be helpful to the team."

"Or she could be a spy! She doesn't even know how to fight!" His hands coil into a tight fist. My breathing quickens. What's wrong with me!

"How do you know that? You haven't asked her! So until you do so she is staying aboard and we are going to find another peaceful planet to stay on until we come up with a plan! That is an order paladin do you understand me!? Shiro is gone! Don't let yourself go too!" I yell at him tears flowing down my cheeks. "Why do you have to be so selfish, you're acting just like one of them!" A look of surprise rolls across both of our faces. "No Keith, I-"

"Dammit Allura! I can't be Shiro, I'm not Shiro!" He screams in my face making me shake. I've never seen him like this. I fall onto my knees burying my face in my hands not daring to move. Chills race down my back. My whole body was now shaking, I try to breath but I feel like someone is strangling me. I raise my head steadily, Keith had left. Staggering to my feet I manage to get to the dining hall. Hunk sits next to Pidge in deep conversation. While Lance sits alone lost in his own world. Keith next to him was not moving, not speaking. Coran brings in plates of Goo as I sit in my seat. For once, the green jiggly jelly-like substance had no appeal. I poked at it frivolously with Hunk's latest fascination, a spork. Our guest walks in not smiling but she didn't appear sad. Not like me.

"Oh, (y/n)! You've got to try some of this space Goo! It's grown on me!" Beams Hunk holding up a bit of Goo. (Y/n) laughs making her way over to the spot where Shiro usually sits. It is slightly unnerving considering recent events. She gobbles up the food less than gracefully quickly turning a shade of red after. Lance cockily smiles flirting with her. Pidge was talking to Hunk and (y/n). For once everything was normal, as it should be. I stand up smoothing my white and periwinkle dress.

"Paladins, and (y/n), you will need to accompany Coran and I for take off. The ship's ready." The room was quiet as I spoke. Leaving I can feel them whispering behind me, what of I do not know. We reach the control station moments later. I place my hands on the ship while the other paladins take their seats with Coran at the main control panel. Blue light glows under my fingers and the ship takes off plunging into space above us. It's a bit shaky but once we are up we fly just as normal. "Coran search for any uninhabited planets, we will need to seek shelter quickly, the galra will take off from the planet soon." I open a portal and the castle jumps through. Purple and blue streaks fly by the window. I can see the astonishment on (y/n)'s face as the colors reflect in her eyes. Suddenly the castle lighting shuts down. I look around frantically, the other have similar expressions. "Coran! What happened?"

"Princess, I believe the battle combined with the take off caused this. The castle seems to be, well, drained of quintessence. I have a spare crystal from the Balmera, I'll need to replace it! It'll be just a varga!" Coran heads to the door and it slowly opens. He manages to squeeze through, the door clumsily shutting behind him.

"I'll go help!" Hunk says following, but when he reaches the door he slams face first into the cold metal. "Wait, why isn't the door working?" He backs up and tries again still with no success.

"I'm not sure but, we are lucky that Coran got out in time. He should have the ship up and running soon, but meanwhile we should all get some rest." I assure them trying to calm everyone's tensions.

"SLEEPOVER!" Cheers Pidge throwing a fist up in the air. This will be good, the bonding should help us.
