Comforting Friend - JUNGKOOK

You're out grocery shopping when one of your best friends calls you.

"Hey, are you home? I'm outside." Jungkook asks tapping the phone with his fingers as he holds it to his ear.

"No but you can let yourself in since you have a key. I'm actually surprised you haven't used it without my permission yet." You chuckle.

"I'm your best friend. I would never do such a disrespectful thing." He says while unlocking the door.

"And yet you eat all my food when you're at my house without asking me." You state.

"Right, right. Actually can I-"

"Go ahead. I'm shopping for groceries anyway." You grab a few bags from in front of you.

"Thanks. Oh and make sure you bring a few big bags of chips." He says, letting you know he's about to eat a full bag on his own.

"Already have them in my hand." You reply, knowing how much he loves chips.

"This is why you're my best friend." He says as he grabs the remote and sits on the sofa.

"Sure." You can hear him already munching on the chips and it makes you smile because you have the dorkiest best friend.

"So are you by yourself? Maybe I should meet up with you since I need some stuff too." He says while flipping through channels, still munching out.

"Actually I'm with Lydia." At the mention of your friends name, you can hear Jungkook move around. You imagine him putting the chips aside and sitting at the edge of his seat. Jungkook can hear your friend ask you who you're on the phone with.

"Don't tell-" Jungkook attempts to stop you from telling her it's him but he was too late. He can hear her ask you if she can talk to him but fortunately for him you tell her he's busy. He sighs in relief.

"Alright, I'll talk to you later Jungkook." You say and quickly hang up after he says goodbye. You then look at your texts until you find Jungkook. You send him a message saying he's welcome to whatever alcohol you own. He smiles but it quickly disappears. He hates resorting to alcohol but he finds that it helps sometimes.

Jungkook has been in love with your friend for a while now and you always wanted them to get together but he was always too hesitant. He felt that she would never be interested in a loser like him and even if she was, he believed they wouldn't last long. He was also afraid of messing up their friendship.

That was until one day he saw her talking to a guy. It was obvious they were both flirting with each other. She was even touching him a lot and sure she was generally a touchy person but she was being even more touchy with this guy. He had stopped talking to your friend for a week and then he found out that she started dating that guy. Since then he hadn't spoken to her at all. He would always come to you when he was feeling down about not talking to her and you told him that he didn't have to stop completely but he was convinced that it would hurt much more than simply ignoring her. He trusted you with his secrets. He knew you and Lydia were much closer than you and him but he knew you would never tell her about him.

You finally arrive home after having dinner with Lydia. Jungkook is still there and still drinking according to the bottle on the coffee table. To your surprise he seems sober as you greet him.
