Chapter 21: Babysitting

 (Ryan’s POV)

 Well that hour was very fiery, energetic and wild. It was down-right amazing. I found it so hard to catch my breath which goes to show how intense it was. I’m glad after what Beth has been through in the past with the whole abuse thing she trusts me enough to let me sleep with her. I watch her lay beside me about to fall asleep. Then I remember we can’t sleep. Baby Ben should be round soon so we can look after him. I let Beth catch some rest. I did think to myself why did she bother to straighten her hair? I messed it up while we were snogging passionately. I couldn’t help it. She has incredibly long hair that just makes your hands want to get lost in it; well and tangled. I look in the mirror at my hair and she messed up my quiff. Oh well; it was all defiantly worth it. I make myself look presentable to open the door to Lyndsey or Matt to hand over Ben and I make my way downstairs after kissing Beth lightly on the lips. The doorbell soon goes and I notice the double daters still aren’t back yet. I then open the door to meet a tired looking, panda eyed Matt. He looks shattered. And the source of this tiredness is what he’s cuddling in his arms.

‘Man you look shattered’ I try to sound sympathetic but I comes out sounding like I was bragging. Oops.

‘Yeah well I’ll give two guesses to why that might be’ he indicates down at Ben. I can’t help but coo at Ben and he laughs slightly. Matt hands him over to me. I have no idea how to hold a baby but I feel I got this under control.

‘You don’t wanna come in for a quick cuppa or something before you leave for the concert?’ I offer.

‘Oh no man, it’s ok, cheers for the offer though. I don’t wanna be walking in on a naked Beth, do I?’ he winks. Thanks Lyndsey for telling your boyfriend every detail of your best friends life.

‘Ok then. When will you be picking Ben up?’ I ask.

‘Around mid-day tomorrow?’ he attempts to confirm.

‘Yeah sure sounds great. Have fun!’ I try to sound enthusiastic.

‘Thanks man. I’d say the same to you but… changing pooey nappies isn’t fun; trust me.’ He walks out of the drive and to his car. I laugh at what he said but really I’m regretting what I’ll find in Ben’s nappy later. I’ll leave that job to Beth I think. I close the door and Beth wonders down in her dressing gown while yawning. I smirk at her and she gives me a sexy grin.

(Beth’s POV)

Staring at Ryan holding Ben in his arms gives me butterflies in my tummy. I don’t know what it is but Ryan just looks perfect with a baby. I can’t help but beam with admiration. I notice the baby bag lying in the doorway that Matt or Lyndsey must of put there while handing Ben over to Ryan. I pick it up and bring it through into the living room. Ryan shortly follows holding Ben.

*time passes*

I’m currently cradling Ben asleep in my arms while Ryan has his arm around me and is staring into Ben’s eyes. Ben grins at both of us. Ben slowly drifts to sleep and we place him in the travel cot that was packed tightly into the baby bag earlier. Me and Ryan both look over the cot at Ben asleep and we both face each other and smile. Ryan grabs my waist and pulls me in. Something like this I want more than ever. Our lips crash again and Ryan bites my lip seductively when we hear something drop to the floor in the doorway. It’s Andy’s coat. And standing above it is
