Chapter 22: Explanations
(Andy’s POV)
I’m not angry or anything; it’s just a shock. Seeing the person you can’t stop loving kissing your band mate. I can’t terminate my feelings for her. They instantly push each other away. I look down and see baby Ben. The reason I told Beth I was infertile. Looks like this whole room is filled with disappointment and the source of shattered things. Everyone is silent. No one know what to say. I just walk off and leave them to it. After all Ryan can give Beth the one thing I can’t; a baby. The only good thing I’ve got today is a brand new front screen to my car. But nothing can cheer me up after what I just saw. I just shut myself in my room for the rest of the day playing sad songs on my guitar.
(Beth’s POV)
‘He’s gunna hate me’ I say through my tears to Ryan.
‘Don’t worry babe he just needs time to process ‘us’’ he reassures me while stroking my back lightly.
‘I have to go and speak to him’ I decide. Ryan doesn’t stop me.
(Andy’s POV)
I hear the door open and someone steps inside my room while I’m in the middle of singing ‘Standing In The Dark’ which is clearly directed at Beth. I stop playing and let her talk.
‘Hey can we talk?’ she whispers.
‘Not really I’m busy’ I bluntly reply.
‘Oh, ok. No worries I’ll just come back when you’re off your man period, yeah?’ she sarcastically reply. I just scowl at her.
‘Fine come in then.’ I sigh. She walks in and starts her sentence.
‘I want me and you to be ok with each other and who we see from now on. I don’t want you to be upset about me and Ryan and I don’t want to be upset when I see you with your next girlfriend’ she says.
‘Like I’m gunna find a girl who’s willing to be with me without the dream of being a mother’ she faces down at his guitar.
‘How about we all go out to Mahiki’s again tomorrow? Ben gets dropped back home at about mid-day and we could all use the night out. Spread the happiness in joy.’
‘The only happiness and joy I’ll receive is when you decide to get out my room’
‘I’M TRYING HERE ANDY!’ she screams. And I have to admit it shocks and scares me.
‘Fine we’ll go out, we’ll pretend everything is perfect and we are all friendly to one another. But me and you will know that’s a lie.’
‘Great be ready for 7 then’ she winks then exits the room. Thank god.
*mid-day next*
(Beth’s POV)
Matt knocks on the door and I answer holding a cheerful and happy Ben.
‘Hey little man!’ Matt exclaims as he holds out his arms and I hand Ben to him.
‘Hey, Matt’ I say.
‘Hey how was he?’
‘He was a perfect little angle’ I say while lightly squeezing Ben’s cheek as he chuckles.
‘Aww.’
‘Has he met the rest of your family?’ I ask.
‘Yeah they all love him, apart from my sister.’
‘Why what happened with your sister?’
She was all like ‘get him away from me he could have something contagious, I HATE KIDS!’ Matt mocks his sister in a high pitched feminine voice and I can’t help but hysterically laugh at his impression. My laugh then fades out as I realise something.
‘Urm, Matt?’
‘Yeah?’ he sounds confused.
‘Is your sister single by any chance?’
‘Yeah why? That’s a source of her annoyance.
‘Tell her to come to mine for 7 tonight in a dress’
‘I don’t think my sister likes women but-‘
‘I’m not asking for me, I’m asking for Andy.’ I say while rolling my eyes.
‘That makes more sense. Sure!’
‘Great bye Matt!’ I say and wave at them while him and Ben get in the car. I close the door and smirk. Tonight is gunna be perfect.
