"Right here Miss," Claude said, gesturing to a set of giant oak doors.

"In here Miss," Clyde said, standing on the opposite side of Claude.

"Thank you," I said as they pushed the doors on.

They waited as I walked in, then pulled the doors shut.

"Good luck Miss," Claude whispered.

I smiled at him, then turned my attention back to the room as the doors shut completely.

My eyes widened in surprise at the sheer size of the room. It was massive, almost as big as the ballroom, except it was almost completely covered in shelves with ancient looking books.

A grand staircase led up to a second floor of books, with delicate looking railing peering down at me from above.

"It's stunning," I said in awe, marveling at how many stunning paintings hung from spaces on the wall.

"The library is beautiful. Though not as beautiful as you my little Princess," a voice purred.

I whipped around, my eyes snapping up.

Lucas stood, his head propped up by his elbow as he leaned against the balcony. His eyes followed me hungrily as he grinned mischievously.

"What are you doing here?" I asked, taking a step back, stupidly forgetting that I was walking away from the door.

From escape.

"Why, I'm watching a Princess stumble about. And imagining just how ravishing she is going to taste," he grinned, his tongue snaking out.

My breath caught in my throat as he swiftly planted his hand on the railing and jumped down, landing before me so quickly I barely had time to register anything before his hand was wrapped around my throat.

"Now princess, where were we?" He asked as I tried to pry his hand away, grabbing onto his wrist with both hands.

He laughed and pulled me closer, his fangs brushing the crook of my neck.

"Enough Lucas. Have you not learnt your place?" A booming voice said.

Lucas groaned and looked up, staring behind me.

"Can't you just stay out of my business?" He asked, glaring at the person behind me.

"Not when I've already claimed her," Axsel said calmly, appearing to my left. He gripped Lucas' wrist and I flinched as I heard the sound of bones crunching.

"Ouch," Lucas grinned, although it was obviously strained, letting go of my neck.

I glimpsed his wrist and almost threw up. It sat at an unnatural 90 degree angle with small shards of bone poking through the skin.

"Touch her again and I'll break more than your wrist," Axsel threatened,"Next time it's your neck."

"Oh brother dear," Lucas sighed, shaking his wrist as if it was already healed,"Why do you insist on trying to look intimidating? You know broken bones mean nothing to me."

He grinned as he ran a hand through his hair. His hand dropped to his side and he laughed at my expression.

"Impossible..." I said, my voice trailing off as I stared at his once ruined wrist. It looked perfectly normal, not even the skin was marred. It showed absolutely no sign it had ever been broken.

"See what I am now Princess? I'm invincible!" He laughed, baring his fangs to me.

I panicked and took a step backward, my heartbeat quickening as a pair of hands held my arms from behind.

I looked up, panic in my eyes as they met the golden ones of Axsel.

He peered down at me, his eyes blank.

He said nothing as he leaned down and I cried out as his fangs bit into my skin.
