"Dante..." my voice trailed off as his lips grew closer to mine, his eyes enticing.

I held my breath, surprised as his lips brushed past my cheek, towards the crook of my neck.

"What the hell do you think you're doing?" I asked, jerking back.

He looked at me in surprise, as if I had rejected him.

"I-I'm sorry Rae. I got...your scent overwhelmed me and...I'm sorry," Dante said, his eyes wandering over me.

"It's-it's fine," I said, moving back.

His fingers lingered on my arms, then eventually dropped as he sighed.

"I'm really sorry Rae. I really meant you no harm," he sighed,"Please. Forgive me."

I said nothing, still freaked out but nodded.

He smiled again, his eyes sparkling.

"I see you met my brothers. I'm sorry if they gave you a hassle," he said, watching me as I shook my head.

"No no. They gave me no problems," I replied, giving a shaky smile I hoped looked reassuring as Jamie smiled at me.

Jamie opened his mouth when a voice spoke from the shadows, sending chills down my spine.

"Well well Little princess. Looks like you've run into scum. Need help getting away?" Lucas leered, appearing at my side.

"She needs no help from you," Dante snarled.

"Oh, how disappointing. You're still here. And you brought the triplets. And the freak," Lucas sneered, gesturing towards Jamie.

"Who're you calling freak?" Jamie retorted.

Lucas laughed, draping his arm across my shoulders.

Dante tensed up, sensing my fear.

"My dear Jamie, you can't decide if you want to have a pair up top or down low. That is what I call a freak," he chuckled.

"Gender fluid people would freak out you stuck up obnoxious vampires," Jamie grinned, winking at Lucas.

Lucas' eyes widened in surprise and his lip twitched.

"You should leave. Axsel has reached his last nerve and next time he will not be so lenient as to let you all leave alive," Lucas said, twirling a strand of my hair between his fingers.

I bit my lip, my breathing ragged.

Dante watched me closely, then-watching me nod ever so slightly- turned heel and walked away, his brothers following him reluctantly.

Jamie winked at Lucas one last time, then smirked at me and disappeared.

"Well little princess it seems it's just us left. But alas," Lucas said, sighing and taking his arm off my shoulder,"I promised Axsel I wouldn't make a move on you. Although- and excuse me saying this- but you do keep terrible company. First Axsel, then Migael, then those godforsaken twins and now...Dante."

"What do you know about Dante?" I snapped, watching as he turned his back to me, walking away.

He stopped, looking at me over his shoulder with his hands in his pockets.

"I know a hellava lot more than you do about him. And let me tell you this: at least when I try to steal you away from Axsel, I do it out in the open."

And then he turned away, waving his hand dismissively, grinning at me.

"Oh and by the way, Axsel has requested you get changed into something more fancy. He said something about a dinner."
