"Hello Miss."
"You're late Miss."
Claude and Clyde greeted me, poking their heads through the door.
"Coming," I said, standing up.
"You dropped something Miss," Clyde said.
"Right there Miss. By your feet," Claude said, pointing.
I looked down and was met by the sight of the rose. A single petal had fallen off and I moved my foot off it, the actual rose laying pitifully on its side next to my foot.
"It's nothing," I said, bending down and picking it up.
I felt the thorn feebly try to prick my finger again, pressing against my skin.
The twins exchanged a look as I set the rose on my bed.
"What?" I asked, smiling as the twins looked back at me.
"Nothing Miss," they said in unison, opening the door.
I frowned then walked through the door, waiting as they closed the door.
They walked ahead of me, leading my to a set of intricate doors, twice the size of a grown man.
"In here Miss," they said, pushing the doors open.
I gasped at the room, the floor a black marble with the roof soaring above me.
A grand chandelier hung just above a long wooden table that looked like it could seat fifty men and woman, yet only four people sitting there. Lucas an Miguel sat opposite each other, Damon sitting two seats down from Lucas. Axsel sat at the head of the table, four seats open between him and Migeal. I realized this meant I'd be sitting in between the two of them.
"Glad you could make it princess. I was starting to wonder if I'd ever smell your sweet scent again," Lucas grinned.
"Fucking creep," Migeal hissed.
"Watch your language around the table," Damon scolded.
"I'll watch you squirm in pain when I beat the crap out of you," Migeal retorted.
"Enough! We are at least to act civilised around the dinner table if no where else," Axsel boomed, standing up.
My eyes immediately went to him, searching his eyes for human emotion. They flickered as I watched but were quickly turned back to stone.
Lucas seemed to notice us staring at each other because he stood up abruptly, planting his hands palm down on the table. "I want her to sit next to me," He said, his mouth set in a thin line.
"No," Axsel said, frowning.
"And why the hell not?"
"Because I claimed her," Axsel snapped.
Lucas laughed and it sent chills down my spine.
"You never waited when it was any of our chances! You seduced the woman as soon as you could and when they begun to bore, you simply killed them!" He laughed.
"Enough!" Axsel snapped, slamming his palm against the table.
"You murdered those woman-"
"Shut the fuck up!" Migeal yelled, standing up and snarling.
"Stay out of this!" Axsel growled.
"No. Migeal is right in this instance," Damon said, following suit, "While I'm sure that tensions are running high we have no reason to discuss this with Miss Raeden in our presence."
All eyes turned to me and Lucas tsked, sitting down angrily. "I'm not dropping this matter, not this time," He growled.
"You will learn your place. All of you!" Axsel yelled, slamming his hands down on the table.
The cutlery rattled and my eyes widened as his cold gaze settled on me, fierce and angry. "This disobedience all stared when I brought her here," he said.
"And what are you going to do about it?" Lucas snarled.
Axsel watched me, regarding me with something I couldn't understand.
"I'll get rid of her in seven days," he said firmly.
"Wait! Don't I get a say in this? You can't just kick me out the house now that I know your secret," I protested.
I felt the twins hold my shoulders but I quickly shrugged them off.
None of the other guys would meet my gaze as I stalked over to Axsel, staring him right in the eyes. "I'm not kicking you out," he replied coldly.
My eyes widened in surprise as he brushed past me, barely touching my shoulder.
"In seven days, you'll be dead."
