"I don't believe you," I said, closing my eyes and shaking my head.

"Ha! She doesn't believe us! The girl knows almost nothing yet she decides we are lying. Humans!" Jamie scoffed, sitting back down.

I gasped as a sharp pain went through my back.

"Long ago, at the beginning of time, a vampire fell in love with a human. This was forbidden in those times and the vampire was cursed," Thomas said, dabbing at my cuts again.

Dace and Cade grinned. "This story," Dace said.

"He tells it every time," Cade grinned.

"Preposterous! Boring fairy tales..." Jamie scolded, although even he glanced towards us as Thomas told the story.

"By then, it was already too late. The human was pregnant with twins, one human, one vampire. The vampires revolted in rage and tried to kill the human, invoking the vampire's rage. He died protecting the women, hiding her far from any vampire. She gave birth to the twins and she too died during childbirth. The twins grew up together, a vampire and a human. They had no one to rely on except for each other, the perfect brothers always looking out for each other. Then it all went wrong. The human twin aged, whereas the vampire twin only grew until he looked 18. 'Save me brother. Turn me into a vampire,' the human twin begged. But the vampire refused. 'Humanity is the greatest gift one could ever get. I refuse to take it away from you,' he argued. In time the other brother grew bitter and-"

"And that is quite enough stories for one night," Dante said suddenly.

Jamie stood up and Thomas backed away from me.

"Dante...I didn't-when-how- what are you doing here?" Jamie asked backing away.

Dante narrowed his eyes at Jamie then blurred, grabbing his wrist.

"Dante wait please!" Jamie screamed, trying to move away.

I shut my eyes as Dante's hand blurred, aiming right for Jamie's eyes.

There was a wet tearing sound and Jamie screamed.

"Stop whining. They'll regenerate," Dante said coldly.

I opened my eyes and fet fear rush through my veins. Jamie stood with his hands over his eyes, crimson liquid flowing through his fingers.

"My eyes..." He murmured frantically.

"I should do ten times what you've done to Raeden," Dante said, bending down and ripping the rope away from my hands.

I flinched as he took my hand, helping me up.

His eyes softened as they glanced over my back. "I'll get you cleaned up properly Rae. Thomas, take her to my chambers. I shall be there soon enough," he said.

"Yes Dante," Thomas said, bowing his head. Fear laced his voice as he lead me away.

"And now boys," Dante's muffled voice said,"We discuss the vampires at midnight mansion. It seems they want to go to war. So let's show them how scary real vampires are."
