Emerald's POV
I walked in my house. My plan was to dodge my parents by running up to my room.
I ran to my room. They never enter my room so it'd be fine.
I pushed my door open lightly to see my parents on my bed.
"Uh. Hey."
"Emerald.. we're so sorry about this morning. We didn't think you'd be unhappy and we're-" my mom was ranting out but I stopped her.
"No mom. I'm sorry. I really am super happy to have a future sister or brother. I just... i don't know why I couldn't react like I wanted to."
"It's fine." My dad hugged me tight.
"Also." My mom smiled at me. "Your grandfather is coming for the week end to visit."
"Ah yes!" I let go of my dad and grinned like a child. "I love grandpa!"
"See.. it's not your mom's dad. It's-"
"Will's dad." My mom gave a fake smile.
"Oh."
"Yeah I mean... i haven't seen him in a while. Since our wedding. And it just doesn't seem right." My dad tightened his mouth. I could tell he didn't want to see his dad again.
My dad was hurting and there wasn't anything I could do to help but to just hug him again along with my mom.

"Grandpa?" I stood stiffly at the door and looked at my grandpa. I was shocked. I didn't know he was coming?
"Dad? What are you doing here?" My mom came from behind me. I got out the way so she could hug him.
"I can't give my family a visit?"
"Of course I just... this was unexpected and- and.."
"I know I should have called you and Landon." He laughed. He looked back at me and smiled. "Hey! There she is! Wow who would've thought that Emerald would actually turn out like her mom. But just green!"
He took me in a hug which I responded to.
"Mr. Austin?"
"Ah! Will!" My grandpa stared at Will who looked shocked also. "Why is everyone so shocked to see me."

"Okay so I get where the shock came from now. Does Landon have a spare room in his house?"
My parents stared at me now.
"What."
"You used to stay over there with Nalia so is there an extra room for your grandfather?" My mom asked me and I nodded.
"Yeah. There is."
"Guess I'll be staying there this weekend."
"I'm so sorry, dad. Just call us the next time, all right?" My mom laughed.
The three of them continued talking so I didn't feel the need to stay there just hearing them.
I got my coat on and left.
I didn't know where I could go. But my feet walked me to the diner where I was, as always, greeted by a waiter and sat at the usual table. The table far out and beside a wide window. Where the lights were dim and where the air was most warm.
I got cozy in the booth that had green leather seats that were about four feet wide. I stretched my legs on the seat and took out my usual coffee cup that was filled up by a waitress.
