Emerald's POV

"Yayyy!" My dad, mom, uncle and aunt, Liam, Kyle, Julian, Nalia, Nathalina, and Lynn clapped and cheered when I stood up from my bed.

"You're doing great, Emerald!" Mrs. Hamfers grinned and was helping me get up.

Because of the gunshot wound in my right leg, I wasn't able to walk for almost two months. I did go to the hospital but there wasn't much to do since they already sealed it up and all. So I requested to go home and stay with my family. And today was the day I was gonna stand and start walking. With guidance obviously. Whenever I had to use the bathroom, they would practically lift me up.

I love my bed, but it gets so tiring after two months.

I grinned at myself when I stand up straight with both feet firmly on the ground and I face my family.

My mom cries while hugging my dad who smiled proudly.

"Try walking slowly to your parents."

I take a deep breath and put my left leg forward to start walking.

Liam ran up by my side and held my arm to help me.

I gave him a grateful smile and he winked at me.

"I got you. Don't worry." He said softly. He smiled at my and held my arm up with his left hand and held my hand with his right hand.

I slowly put my right foot in front of me but I started limping.

I bite my lip and continue limping towards my parents.

My dad held out his hand to me me once I was closer, I grabbed it and he pulled me in a big and tight hug.

"I love you, sweetie."

I laughed softly. "I love you too, dad."

He let go and I stared at my mom who was crying.

I limped towards her and hugged her too.

She ruffled my hair and smiled at me when I let go.

I looked at my Uncle and Aunt who where grinning so much.

"I'm so proud of you, sweetie!" They both gave me a bear hug.

I laughed and let go. "Thank you." I grinned at them and walked past them to Julian and Nalia. Julian held his arms wide open for me to hug him and I gladly do.

"So proud of you." He muffle. I heard him sniff and I let go.

"Julian! You're crying!" I said laughing.

"Come on! Man up! Not the way I raised you." My uncle said. Until he brought his hands to his eyes and started crying.

"Landon?" My aunt said putting her hand on his shoulder.

My parents were laughing so much when Landon waved her off and claimed he was fine.

"Not the way I raised you, dad." Julian said joking.

"Oh shut up." My uncle said laughing, wiping his eyes.

I laughed and limped towards Nalia who was grinning and crying.

"I'm so proud of you. You're beautiful and strong and I'm sorry I was such a bitch. I love you. You're my sister and I'm so happy for you."

I teared up and tightened my hold on her. "I love you, Nalia."

I let go after a while and hug Nathalina and Lynn.

"We just want to say how we're all so proud of you and we all love you."

I grinned and let go of them.

Kyle was last.

"Come here, you goof." I said as he grinned big.

He hugged me tightly. "You're the bravest person I know and I'm so proud of you."

I let go and turned around to Mrs. Hamfers.

"Thank you for everything. I really couldn't have gone this far without you." I turn around to face my family. "Or any of you. You all push me to be the best I can be and I'm truly thankful that I'm part of this family."

They cheered and Mrs. Hamfers gave me a hug.

"You truly make me proud." She said.

I grinned and let go of the hug.

I turn around to face Liam.

"Guys, lets give them a moment!" Julian yelled out.

Everyone scrambled out of the room when they noticed and Liam and I started laughing.

"I love your family." He said smiling.

"I do too. And I know they love you too."

"Oh I hope so." He said laughing. "I'm proud of you Emerald. You're the bravest person I know." He sat me down on the bed and sat across from me in the chair. "I'm so glad I've grown to know you as not only the girl I fell in love with, but as well as my best friend. My other half. My soulmate who has made me a better person and made me realize some people in my life weren't right for me. I can't tell you how terrified I was to know that you were in danger or how sad and angry I was when I found out you were hurt. Or how happy I am right now that you walked by yourself. It's the small things about you that make me realize how in love I am with you. It's your deep eyes that hypnotize me. And the small set of freckles on your nose. And the way you scrunch up your nose when you lie. And how you try not to laugh by looking away. And how you bite your lip when you're unsure or thinking or trying to do something or nervous. And I could go on forever telling you what I love about you. And I want to ask you, finally," He said laughing, "if you'd like to be my girlfriend." He had my hands in his hands and I was once again crying.

I nod, yes and he takes a deep breath.

"Really?!"

"Yes." I said grinning. "Of course, Liam."

He stood up from his chair and ran to my door. He opened it wide and Julian and Nalia fell into the room.

My eyes widened when they're on the ground. "Were you guys listening through the door?"

"Agh." Julian rubbed his head. "Uh maybe."

Liam was on the floor laughing. "Oh my gosh! You should've seen your faces when I opened the door!"

Nalia started laughing obnoxiously and I couldn't help but laugh too.

Liam stepped out the room. "Guys! She said yes!!"

"Wooh!" I heard from downstairs.

They're all so crazy.
