I watched as Thomas began to pace the hall Jess had only been gone less than two minutes and he was a nervous wreck. I found it amusing to see a man his size reduced to a love sick fool but I and cass were no better if the truth is told.

"Calm down man he will be fine Bently is with him no harm will come to him you'll see."

If looks could kill I would have been six feet under. Thomas glared at me like he was ready to eat my heart.

"Any thing can happen, Marcus, you of all people should know that."

The remark stung deep in my heart I did know that anything could happen, it did happen, to the love of my life before I even had a chance to tell him how I felt.

 I turned my head away and tried not to look too torn by his sharp words.

"Shit I'm really sorry man I didn't mean that I'm just worried and I'm been an ass about it"

I shook my head and waved him off.

"No your right anything can happen it's best to be ready in case it does I can't really blame you for wanting to keep him safe"

As the words left my lip the most horrendous pain filled scream filled the halls surrounding us making us all freeze questioning our selves if we actually heard it or not.

All of a sudden the panic alarm sounded and all hell broke loose. I and Thomas took off towards Radcliffs cell not prepared for what we would find.

As we turned the corner I heard Bently screaming at Radcliff to let Jess go. The sound of a gun shot shocked us both making us falter in our steps.

A sigh of relief passed my lips as Bently pulled Jess out of the cell but it was short lived.

Bently looked up at us as we neared and screamed for us to ring an ambulance. It was then I spotted the blood flowing between his fingers that were pressed tightly against his throat.

"WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED? YOU WERE SUPPOSED TO BE FUCKING WATCHING HIM."

Thomas roared at Bently as he tried to control the heavy bleeding.

"They were talking then he kissed Jess then he hugged him I thought they were just saying their last goodbyes. The next thing I know Jess was screaming and the sick son of a bitch was biting his throat."

Thomas glared down at Bently and the wound on Jesse's neck.

" Look man it all happened so fast if I hadn't shot the bastard in the leg he would have killed him. He's bitten into the carotid artery if we don't get him help quickly he will die or at the very least end up brain dead."

I looked down at the helpless boy on the ground his eyes were glazed over and I could tell by the lack of colour in his face he was in a very bad way. My heart clenched As Harper pushed past me and fell to his knees beside the injured boy.

"Please please, jess stay awake  stay with me."

 He chanted over and over again. I watched helplessly as the poor boy sobbed uncontrollably as the life of his friend hung in the balance between life and death.

Cass came up behind him and pulled him against his large chest trying to calm the hysterical boy down.

" The ambulance is on the way and  Dr Rodes will be here in a minute luckily for us he was here checking in on Jay."
