"I'm uh confused- What exactly are your expectations from life?" His voice shook just like my confidence in him.
"Okay, so this may sound weird but, my goal in life is to live every minute, in fact, every teeny tiny second, to the fullest." I said taking another sip of my drink.
"That's uh... Interesting?" He hesitated.
"It's okay if you don't like it, but I'd like you to understand what I mean by that. So, would you allow me to explain?" My dark brown eyes gleamed with excitement.
"Actually-"
"Perfect! Life for me, is getting the hell out of the mainstream! I don't want to be average! There's a million people waiting in line to do the mainstream stuff. But think about this, what if you had a chance to be special. I'm not talking 'superhero' special. I'm just saying that, how amazing would it be to make your life count! Count as something more than sitting under a desk and drinking with me! By the way, there's a 89% chance that we'll get caught." I whispered.
I giggled as the colour drained from his face. "I'm kidding, we're safe. Sleeping beauty doesn't look like she's going to wake up this year."
"You're crazy!" He spluttered as I gulped down another sip of my drink and sent him a wink.
"Lex!" I heard someone hiss and let out a sigh.
"Looks like our time here is done." I said gulping down the rest of the burning liquid.
He scrambled for his things and hurriedly got back to his seat.
I rolled my eyes and reluctantly got off the ground. I was greeted by a disapproving look from my best friend- well sort of. She's an angel. Well so am I! The horns are only there to keep the halo in place. *wink wink wink*
"This is so unhealthy for you!" She complained.
"I have been kind to myself. Rewarding myself only when necessary. And seeing how I was dealing with a massive pain in the butt today I figured I deserved it."
"He couldn't have been that awful?"
"It wasn't him. It was the fact that I would be exposing him to the disaster known as Mae Hemingway that made me feel awful."
"Bitch." She glared at me playfully and I flipped my middle finger in her face.
"You know I'd do the same for you!" She offered with a small smile.
"Trust me I would never put you through that kind of torture. Knowing that you're basically guaranteeing someone a broken heart. Nope. Not my thing." I said shaking my head.
"Are you going to tell me anything about him? Or do I just get to hear you whine about how terrible I am?" She snapped.
I smirked and sat up straight.
"He's not a bad guy if that's what you're asking. He has three dogs, which is definitely a plus. But apart from that I don't know anything about the guy except he is excessively enthusiastic about biochemistry and his favorite colour is brown."
"Sounds like a good nerd to me."
I groaned before dropping my head in my hands.
"That's exactly the point! He's not your type. I mean when was the last time you liked a nerd?"
"Uhm- like yesterday. I get that he's not my type. But he's so cute! I mean, I'd listen to him for hours just to stare into his eyes. And he won't be talking if we're making out so that takes care of the boring part!"
"And you say, this is unhealthy for me?"
"This is like the fifth time this month you blew up my chances with a guy! A cute guy!"
