Chapter 17...

We spent the afternoon exploring the building and grounds, Luke guiding me around like a tour guide, filling me in on all the secrets each place held. He told me about all the little pranks pulled by past swimmers who had stayed here. It was most amusing, listening to him laugh at all the things that went on.

At dinner he introduced me to a few of his friends here, they were all friendly enough. There was Ian, who was a butterfly swimmer, he was good looking but by the way he was checking out the guy at the next table he was clearly gay. Then there was Pete who was kind of like a big clown, he laughed at everything he said even if it wasn't funny but he was a nice guy. Last of the guys was Adam, he was a dark and serious character. He wasn't rube but you could tell he was an intelligent guy who was completely serious about swimming, apparently the best in the team when it came to backstroke and breaststroke.

Last but not least was Jaclyn or 'Jack' as everyone called her, she was almost the spliting image of Halle Barry in Cat Women, right down to the short spiky highlighted hair. She even spoke with a slight purr to her voice. She was stunning with a shabby chic style and an easy grace and charm about her. She was the little sister of the group and when she sat down at the table, she was immediately flanked by Pete and Adam. But with a little laugh she pushed them off and came over and sat next to me.

'So... You're the one hey?' She laughed.

'The one what?' I asked back

'Jack don't start.' Luke moaned

'Oh shoosh.' She laughed turning back to me. 'You're the one that finally captured our boy here's heart.' Many have tried in the past but have been unable to get anywhere near him. And believe me they have tried everything.' She wiggled her eyes at me, as the rest of the people at the table laughed at Luke's discomfort.

'Really?' I smiled dragging out the word as I looked over at Luke, who was shaking his head in his hands. 'What kind of things exactly?'

'Oh well you know, there's the obvious things, like girls throwing themselves at him in the hallways, sitting with us at our table flirting their hearts out. Then you have those that would sneak into his room in the dead of night, those that would try and catch him in the shower, oh and the naked parades, confessionals over the PA system at swim meets. There are so many different examples, but you get the drift right?' She giggled. 'But of course Luke here was completely and utterly uninterested. Ian here was totally starting to getting excited.'

'I was not!' Ian gasped but Jack just waved him off.

'So care to tell us what you did to get him interested?'

'Ermm I'm not entirely sure, I mean I told him to shove it and leave me alone a lot, he didn't listen though.' I laughed when Luke groaned again causing the rest of the table to burst out laughing.

'That's it we're leaving.' Luke snapped playfully grabbing my hand and dragging me out of the dining room.

'God I'm sorry about that.' He mumbled dropping down onto one of the sofas in the lounge, effectively pulling me down with him.
