Millie woke up to a weekend. She looked at her phone. 6:30 am. Great. She picked up her phone and opened Instagram. She saw she had a follow request. She went to the profile, and it wasn't a private one. Finn. She smiled to herself. She followed Finn before she went and happily accepted his request. She went around Instagram, liking other people things and watching oddly satisfying videos of slime and people cutting open stress balls. She did this for a while and then looked at the time again. 7:30 am. She thought this was a reasonable time to get up, so she slipped out of her warm, soft bed into the cool air of her room. She slipped on her light blue sweatshirt and tip-toed downstairs, hoping not to wake her dad if he was still asleep. She winced as the last stair creaked under her weight, but made it into the kitchen. Her dad was already up. "Mining sunshine!" He said, the familiar sound of coffee in the coffee grinder filling the air. Millie scrunched her nose as the strong smell of coffee went it, and her dad chuckled. He tapped to something on he table. "Come on, time for medicine!" He said. Millie dragged herself over he the counter. She reluctantly took a pill from a whole bag of them and placed it in some water. She held her nose and swallowed the pill with some water. Her dad kissed her on the head as she went to get breakfast. Millie had had some symptoms of depression ever since her mom had passed away, so she had to take pills. She hated it, but she knew she had to. If not for her, for her dad. It pained him so much to see her so sad, and it pained her to see him like that, so as always tried her hardest to be happy.
Millie went to the stove and up some bacon and some blueberry pancakes on her plate. She poured syrup on the pancakes and walked to the living room, slumping down on the couch. She grabbed the remote and turned on her favorite show series, Stranger Things. She watched as officers pulled Will's dead body from the lake, while the gang stood by and watched. Eleven was her favorite character because she was like Millie. She barely talked, and that made Millie feel close to her. She shut the TV off after she finished breakfast and put her plate away. As went upstairs to text Noah, the only person who knew about her pills.Millie😌: ugh I HATE taking my pills it's so annoying I know it helps but still. Depression sucks omg it's so hard to describe😭😭😭😫
Millie looked up and....... No, no no. She hasn't texted Noah, she had texted Jo Jo instead. She hadn't even remembered that she'd had her number. She must have opened Thier chat some time yesterday for some reason.
Millie😌: wrong number!! Please don't tell anyone Jo Jo please please!!! I didn't even mean to text u!Millie's hands were shaking, but she got no response from Jo Jo. She felt like he world was collapsing on her. If Jo Jo knew that she had depression, it would spread through the school like a wildfire. Nobody could know. She deleted the texts, but she knew that only deleted them for her, not Jo Jo. Her heart raced as she saw the icon at the bottom of the screen signifying that Jo Jo was typing. Then it was gone. She didn't send anything. Millie felt one tear drop. Her life was ruined, and everyone would know her deepest secret.
