Millie walked into school nervous today. She was afraid that everyone in school knew about her depression. Every time she heard a whisper she covered her face even more by her books. When she got to her locker, someone walked up to her and said tauntingly: "did you remember your pills today?" And laughed. A crowd of laughing kids formed around Millie and she felt her face get hot. Jo Jo and Jacob walked to the middle of the crowd and laughed at her. Jo Jo's laugh was more menacing then anyone else's. "You better leave Millie, because nobody wants to help your depression!" Jo Jo said with malice. Everyone laughed and cheered Jo Jo on. To Millie's absolute horror, she looked behind Jo Jo and saw Finn laughing at her and pointing. She felt tears come down her face, and she ran and ran and ran until she had no strength left in her body........

Millie jolted awake covered in sweat. She was breathing heavily and her heart was beating fast. She felt tears on her cheeks. She must have been crying while she was asleep. She wiped the wetness away with her blanket and noticed that her hands were shaking. She took a deep breath. Just another nightmare, she told herself. But t could be real. Jo Jo could have told everyone her secret. She burst into silent tears and buried her head in her pillow until it subsided. She sniffed and gasped for air as she came up from the pillow. Today was the day that she found out whether Jo Jo told everyone her secret.

Millie walked into school with Noah and pretended not to be nervous. She knew Noah knew that something was up, but he didn't mention anything. Noah went to his locker and Millie went to hers. She put her backpack in her locker and heard footsteps. This was the moment she had been dreading. Millie tried to hold on to the hope that Jo Jo hadn't told anyone. She turned to see Jo Jo and Jacob. Jo Jo whispered something into Jacobs ear and Jacob nodded, walking to the other side of he hall and waiting, looking at us. Jo Jo turned to Millie. "So," Jo Jo started. "You have depression?" Millie nodded nervously, but noticed that there wasn't a lot of malice in her voice this time. It actually didn't sound like she was trying to taunt her at all. "I..." Jo Jo sighed. "I won't tell anyone." Millie raised her eyebrows. Wouldn't tell? This was so relieving. "But!" Jo Jo added. "Nobody speaks of this." Millie nodded. When Jo Jo started to walk away, Millie tapped her on the shoulder. Jo Jo turned. Millie wrote something on paper and showed her question to Jo Jo. She had written: why won't you tell anyone I have depression? Jo Jo sighed and had a look of sadness in her eyes. She hesitated, then said, "I have it too."
