Millie shook Finn outside the school as blood ran out of his nose and out of a gash near his eye. All the anger of Finn not believing Millie flooded away in her tears. Finn was lying on the ground. He was breathing, but his eyes stayed closed. "FINN!" She cried. "WAKE UP!"

Millie sat by a bed in the hospital. Her mom lay there peacefully, shaved head, as Millie and her dad held her hand. Her moms eyes fluttered open. Her mom smiled and so did Millie. Millie always smiled when her mom did. "Honey, I love you so much. Don't give up because of me. I will always be with you." She had said. Her heart monitor beeped. Millie looked over with panic as the heart rate flattened. Tears of overwhelming emotion covered her. She shook her mom and cried harder then she ever had before. "MOMMMM!!!!!!!!" She screamed as doctors rushed in. She fought against her dad as he pulled her away from her mothers lifeless body..

Millie's flashback was sudden and made her cry harder. "Finn!!" She sobbed, pulling him into her arms and crying into him. "I love you Finn," she whispered through chokes of tears. "I always have. Please, wake up." She stopped crying and hugged him as the remaining tears dropped down her face. She felt him stir in her arms. She pulled away from him as his eyes opened. He smiled. "I love you too Millie." She smiled with relief, squeezing tears from her eyes. She pulled him into a tight hug and he hugged her back.

Millie took Finn to the nurse and waited anxiously for the end of they day so she could see him. When the last bell rang, she rushed out of the classroom and into the nurses office. Finn looked a lot better. Some more experienced doctors had been called, and they had fixed him up pretty good. The nurse left Finn and Millie as they collided in a hug. They didn't let go for about a minute. When they pulled apart they sat down on the bench, and Millie found that she could finally talk again. She surprised herself when she remembered that she had screamed before, and she never, ever would have done that before. She smiled at Finn. "Finn, I couldn't tell you before because I went back to being quiet after you.."
"After I was a jerk." Finn finished. Millie didn't want to say yes, but he had yelled at her. "I know Millie, I'm so sorry."
"It's ok," she smiled and continued: "anyway, that night, Jacob kissed me, I didn't kiss him, or I didn't mean to. You didn't see that after I pushed him into the punch bowl." She laughed at the memory that seemed so long ago. Finn smiled. "Jacob wanted JoJo to be jealous and not like me anymore because he thought she broke up with him because of JoJo being friends with me. So I tried to tell you but I guess he figured it out..." She was about to cry but Finn gently ran his hand through her short hair and down her cheek, resting it under her chin. He brought her face up. "Hey," he said softly. "I'm okay now. We are back together. I don't know if it's because of your mom that your so upset," Finn said, trying to be sensitive, remembering the day Millie had briefly told him about her mom. "But you will never lose me. Okay?" Millie nodded, feeling calm. Before she knew what he was doing, they kissed. It was short but sweet. Millie scooted closer to Finn and rested her head on his shoulder. He rested his head on hers and they stayed that way for a long time.
