"There you two are. We were just going to come looking for you. Everyone is starting to show up!" my mom called, annoyed when she saw us emerge from the cabin. Jace and I walked hand in hand down to the fire pit and claimed the two person chair. After what we had just shared, I wasn't too eager to leave his side.
Jace leaned down and whispered so only I could hear, "Well, excuse me for making love to my fiancée."
"Jace!" I gasped, smacking his arm. I was sure my face was beet red now thanks to his comment. In response he just laughed and pulled me closer into his side, swinging my legs up onto his lap.
By now, people were starting to arrive and I was sure that they would know what we had just been talking about by the color of my face. Jace loved to embarrass me so that no one but the two of us knew what was happening. I heard voices around us as everyone gathered around the fire so I hid my face in Jace's chest until I had cooled down. Just his voice caressing those two words— making love— had sent me into a frenzy. At least he hadn't said fucking, I thought. "Oh god," I moaned, a smile in my voice at the thought. I pressed my face tighter against his chest.
I didn't have much of a reprieve though because Jace murmured, "Come out, come out wherever you are," as he tickled my sides gently. My eyes bolted to his face and I covered my mouth to smother the giggle that escaped. Jace's eyes lit up and he removed my hand, nipping at it gently before soothing it with a kiss. "What's so funny, baby girl?" he asked, placing his hand on my thigh and slowly running it up and down my leg. He'd get to the hem of my shorts and tease it before retreating back into safer territory. He had me panting in only a matter of minutes; he was driving me steadily crazy and he knew it. I was lost in his touch, still high from our encounter only minutes ago. "Earth to Kadence... are you going to tell me?"
"If you stop touching me like that I might be able to get more than a moan out," I panted.
His hand instantly stilled and I immediately missed his touch. "Alright, I did as you asked. Now spill. Or am I going to have to tickle you again? We both know you can't handle that, Kade. Look what happened last time."
I laughed and quickly leaned into him so no one could hear us, knowing that he'd follow through on his threat. "Fine. I'm just so turned on. I can't stop thinking what we just did. You've got my body so heightened and on high alert. It's been so long since I've felt like this, Jace."
Jace smiled and pressed a quick kiss to my lips. "That's the way it's supposed to be, Kadence."
"Alright, everyone grab a stick. There's weiners in the cooler. Help yourselves!" my mom called, jolting us from our little bubble.
But true to form, Jace didn't let that distract him. "Did that turn you on?" he laughed, his eyes lighting up with a smile as he stood.
"Well now that you mention it..." I hadn't thought anything of the statement when my mom had said it but of course now that Jace had brought it up, my face was beet red once again. Mortified, I covered my face with my hands. "Just go away; go get a hotdog or something," I moaned.
Jace was silent for a second before bursting into a full belly laugh. His eyes were dancing with mischief when I finally looked at him.
"What now?" I asked, immediately realizing what I had said. "Oh god." My embarrassment returned in full force; I looked at the ground, fearful to meet anyone's eyes. I knew that there was no way our little spectacle had gone unnoticed.
Jace wiped the tears out of his eyes before leaning over and placing a hand on each arm rest, caging me in. I was trapped. "God, I love you, Kade. Don't be embarrassed, baby. I love that you're turned on; that you're hot as hell for me, babe. That turns me on. You're incredibly cute when you're embarrassed too," he whispered.
