You let out a heavy sigh as you walked in to the coffee shop just down the street from your apartment, needing a large cup of ice coffee if you were going to get this chapter of your book done. You had been up since 8 in the morning typing and now it was almost 3:30 and you had spent most the day staring at a blank screen waiting for the words to magically write themselves but as lucky would have it nothing showed up and you were left bashing your head on a wooden desk.
After getting a large Ice coffee and an amazing carrot muffin(That lets be honest you'll by another one before you leave) You were finally getting words down on the page. Thats what you loved about writing, once you got on a roll the ideas simply never stopped flowing and your fingers felt like they were typing a million miles an hour.
You were taken out of your writing trance when a little notification came up saying that your Mac was at four percent and would die within minutes if it wasn't plugged into an outlet. Franticly you shot your head up and scanned around the small cafe trying to find a plug, you couldn't stop writing now, you couldnt lose your ideas now, not when you were finally having a break through for the first time in days.
After looking throughout the whole cafe you had only found once, which was next to a table with a brown haired boy sitting at it. Although walking up and talking to random strangers was way way out of your comfort zone you didn't really have much of a choice at the moment. Standing up, picking your laptop and bag up from the chair across from where you had sat down you made your way over to the boy.
Tapping his shoulder you made him jump a little but a soft smile landed on your face once he say you.
"I-um, you have the only outlet in the cafe and I was wondering if you'd mind sharing the table with me" You asked, extremely softly. You were extremely shy around everybody even more so strangers so this was almost painful for you.
"Of course" He smiled, moving his book over to make room for you.
"Ah harry potter, amazing choice" You smiled, trying your best to make some sort of small talk before opening your laptop back up.
The boy raised an eyebrow, an even bigger smile on his face one you had pointed out his reading martial.
"You a fan?" He asked, looking over your screen you could see him pointing to the book before taking a sip of your copy.
"Only read the series like 4 times" You said causing the boy to laugh as he put his cup back down.
"This is my fifth" He winked, trying to challenge you. You rolled your eyes as a small laugh fell from your lips. He was cute and he read? If you didn't want to make a good impression you'd be on your knees thanking god above.
"Im Jonah" He smiled at you as you typed away on the keyboard in front of you.
"Y/n" You replied, breaking the stair from the computer screen to meet his beautiful eyes once again.
After that he had continued to read the fifth book in the Harry Potter series while you typed away, normally you hated being another others. You always felt uncomfortable and out of place, like they were judging you from the minute they had laid eyes on you, but this boy-who you had know learned was Jonah, had made you feel opposite. You liked having his company, even though it was silent at the table, you felt at ease having him across from you.
"Im gonna go get more coffee, could I get you anything?" He asked, standing up.
"Are you sure? I don't want to impose" You asked, once again looking up from the laptop.
"Of course love" He said, giving you his goofiest and most adorable smile he had.
"Ill take an iced coffee with a shot of vanilla" You smiled. Once he walked away you had decided it was time to take a writing break, shutting your laptop and putting back into the large bag of yours that sat by your feet you smiled and waited for him to get back.
"Here you are madame" He said, in a horrible and completely off french accent but you couldn't help but laugh anyway as he placed your drink down beside you.
"So tell me" Jonah started taking a sip from his freshly brewed coffee.
"What were you typing before?" He asked, putting the cup down and returning his eyes to yours.
"An assignment in my creative writing class at UCLA" You smiled, thinking about all the good work you had done since stepping foot inside the small cafe.
"Is that what your going to college for?" he asked, seeming genuinely interested in what you had to say, which didn't happen often for you.
"Yeah, Im getting my Bachelors in creative writing, the course sends one of your books to a publisher at the end of it. This is my first year out of two" You informed him, the smile never leaving your face as you talked about a possible future you could have with writing.
"Well I guess I should make some room on my bookshelf for all your new york times best sellers" He winked causing your whole face to turn red.
