I walked into my room, throwing my gym bag on the bed and searching the room for Mack.

"Has either of you seen Mack?" I asked Elton and Corey as I entered the game room.

"Nope. It's 2 a.m., she is probably either sleeping or talking with Haley in her room." Elton said, mainly paying attention to the game.

"Okay." I said, running back up the stairs to Haley and Colby's room. "Have you guys seen Mack?"

I stood for a minute before a half-asleep Colby answered the door.

"What do you need Aaron?" Colby snapped.

"I'm looking for Mack. I can't find her anywhere."

"She isn't here." Colby said, opening the door to reveal only him and a sleeping Haley.

Once he shut the door, I walked back into my room to check again and saw a note sitting on the bed.

-

Dear Aaron,

I am sorry to say this but we need to go on a break. It's too stressful being in college and thinking about sharing my future with someone. Elton and Amanda are going to get married some day and they are already going to have a baby soon. Knowing all of this makes me think about my future and it is stressing me out. I need some time alone for now. If I'm ready for a relationship I will come back to you, but for now I'm not ready. I'm sorry. I love you.

What? Why would she do this? It's been two years. I thought we were in love.

"You found her yet?" Elton tore me from my thoughts. "Was just going to bed with Amanda, thought I would check in."

"No. I can't find her."

I picked up my phone, calling Kat in case she is with her.

"Kat? Is Mack with you?"

"No. What's wrong? You know what, I'm on my way back." Kat said.

---

By the time Kat got home, the house was hosting a full search party and everyone was calling her.

"She left a note. She said she is breaking up with me." I cried as I leaned on Corey.

"We can't find her. We looked everywhere." Colby told me.

"I'm calling the police." I told them, picking up my phone.

"No." Haley said. "You are supposed to wait twenty-four hours. But, do one more sweep of the house. If you don't find her then we will call the cops."

I kept searching the house when Sam said he had to go to the bathroom and ran upstairs. It's not really the best time to do that since I am looking for my girlfriend, or ex, who I can't find anywhere.

"Look upstairs. She might be hiding." Devyn said as I bawled through the entire search of the bottom floor.

"Okay. I will check my room, you guys all check your's." I told them as I bolted up the stairs.

I searched under the bed and in every crevice in the room. Finally, I opened the closet door and looked through there.

"Mack!" I screamed.

I picked her up, hugging her and not letting go.

Everyone ran into the room as I hugged her one last time and kissed her.

"Can I say it? Assuming it was a prank." Corey screamed.

"Go for it." She replied to Corey.

"Welcome to the prank wars!"

"I love you, Aaron." Mack said as she wrapped my arms around his neck.

"I love you too, babe. Just don't do that again. Please." I cried, tears dripping from my eyes.

"Don't worry, I won't. It was just payback. I had Jake on the roof with me the whole time, so I wasn't alone." She informed me.

At that moment I realized she was sopping wet from the rain, but I don't care.

"No more pranking me like that. Even if we are in the middle of a prank war." I told her.

---

Eventually, when everything had calmed down, Mack and I decided to head upstairs and go to bed.

"Aaron, I got to go change." She said as I snaked my arms around her waist.

"I don't trust you. Just sleep in your jeans and the hoodie."

"Why don't you trust me?" She asked me, concerned.

"It's not that I don't trust you, it's just that I don't know when you're going to prank me." I said, letting go of her so that she can change.

Once she changed and we were both laying in the bed, I turned over so that I was facing her and asked her something that's been on my mind.

"So, the note was fake right? You aren't stressed out and going to break up with me?"

"Of course not. I won't ever break up with you and I am not stressed. I may live in a world of pranks with a ton of annoying guys, but it is the absolute best thing. Someone is always there to talk and to hang out with. And, almost the whole note was a lie." She replied, making me confused.

"Almost?" I asked her.

"Do you remember the last line? That part was true."

"You aren't ready for a relationship?" I asked.

"No. I love you." Mack told me.

I wrapped my arms around her as Buddy jumped on me and started licking my cheek.

"I love you too."

---

The next morning, I woke up and looked next to me to see Mack but she wasn't there. All of a sudden, I hear screams coming from the backyard and I rush down the stairs and out the back door, looking all over for Mack.

"Mack?!" I screamed.

"I'm right here, Aaron. What's wrong?" She asked me as I turned to see her in the pool with all of the other roommates.

"I heard screams and you weren't in bed. You always sleep in on the weekends, so I figured you would still be asleep." I replied while I walked towards the pool.

"I'm fine." She told me as I leaned over to give her a kiss at the edge of the pool.

She wrapped her arms around my neck, pulling me in and ducking out of the way.

Everyone laughed as I splashed her and threw her to the other end of the pool.
