Astronomy Tower
•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•

Alone and standing in the middle of the night's darkness, Y/N stood there.  Accompanied by the moon. She stared in awe of the heavenly view. The Astronomy Tower has never been so peaceful. It felt like she was in a different world. Y/N can't help but bask in the serenity.

She was pulled out of her reverie by the sound of someone clambering up the metal staircase.

"Sorry for the wait, Filch almost caught me back there." Draco apologized as he reached the top, doubling over to catch his breath.

"It's fine." Y/N sighed but still managed a  smile.

Draco wrapped his arms around her waist, her presence emitting waves of warmth and comfort in an instant. But what he didn't seem to notice was the sadness that lingered beneath the surface.

"I missed you." He whispered into her hair.

Rubbish. She thought.

She cleared her throat and broke away from the embrace. The only thing that's never ceased to make her feel at ease, now doing the complete opposite. Draco's eyebrows furrowed "What is it? What's wrong?"

Y/N turned her attention back to the view. The night seemed to grow colder by the second. "Nothing's wrong." she answered in a low voice. Her words getting lost in the wind.

Draco wasn't satisfied with this answer. He could sense that something was amiss. The boy pressed on and continued to ask. "Are you angry because I was late?"

Y/N scoffed at his question. "Yeah, sure. You could say that."

Draco walked to her side and tried to reach for her hand. But she moved away from his touch and folded her arms instead. "Come now, don't be this way. The night is still long." He tried a playful smile, his head tilting slightly to the side.

Y/N couldn't help but roll her eyes. She tried not to shake her head in disbelief. "Draco, do you really think I'm that shallow?" Her eyes were focused on the railing. "It's not like you were ever on time." She added dryly.

He was clearly stunned by Y/N's cold demeanor. He was speechless for a few moments, but he didn't want it to show. "Fine then. At least tell me why you're acting like this. You're acting completely– "

"Acting like what?" She whips around, only to be faced with an annoyed looking Draco Malfoy. Y/N knew better than to fuel his anger, but she still went on.

Draco moved to turn away from her, carefully calculating his next words. Because he knew far well where this leads to if he doesn't.

"Why are you acting like this?" Draco tried in a much softer tone. But Y/N sensed that this was probably the calm before the storm.

"Acting like what Draco?" She encouraged him to finish his sentence.

"Why are you acting so bloody distant!" He fumed so loud Y/N was sure that Filch would be bounding up the stairs any moment.

She gave him an incredulous look. "Do you even listen to yourself? Why don't you slow down and think of what you just said, yeah?"
