Yule Ball
•~•~•~•~•~•It was nights like these that Draco wanted to last. Y/N in his arms while staring up the starry skies. They were standing on the hull of the Durmstrang Ship, moored in the frozen lake, every so often he would look in awe at her beautiful moonlit face. Laced in a tad bit of make up yet still she was as stunning as ever.
"Have I ever told you that you're the most beautiful girl I've laid my eyes on?" He asked, putting a hand on her cheek and adoring the smile on her face. "Is that so?" She raised her eyebrow.
"Oh it is so," Draco acceded, closing in for another kiss. He wanted to linger for a little bit longer but she pulled away breathlessly. "Maybe you've had a little too much Firewhiskey," She giggled, closing her eyes and tilting her head upwards like she always does to catch her breath when they share a kiss.
Breathing through her nostrils, she looks up at him with glazed eyes and Draco knew he couldn't stop himself now. He closed in on her exposed neck, making her gasp and sigh elatedly in response. Sounds he never thought he could get enough of in a million years. Pulling her in by the waist, Y/N melted under the warmth of his touch. Her hands flying up to tug his hair. The thoughts she had were all jumbled as it skipped on various things; like getting caught making out on the visitors' ship, exposing their forbidden affair, Draco's warm lips doing unwizardly magic, and what her friends would think if they've got a hold of the news, what Harry would feel.
She pulled back a fraction, keeping her hands on his shoulders and making him groan. Y/N leveled her eyes with his as she caught her own breath. "We need to stop this." She breathed.
Her words made rage course through him like wildfire, but Y/N knew better than to be persuaded by fear. She wasn't scared of him though, she was scared of what this might bring in the near future.
"You do understand how difficult our situation is, right?" She could feel him doing his best to control his bad temper which made her adore him even more. She settled her hands on the back of his neck and pulled him close.
He was stiff as a board, the portruding vein in his forehead looked like it was about to burst. She kissed him passionately one last time, atleast that's what it felt like to him. Draco sighed and rested his forehead against hers, he could feel her warm breath fanning his face.
She looked into his eyes like she was saying her goodbyes, which made his heart ache. "I love you." she softly whispered. "I just wanted you to know that you have made me the happiest girl tonight." Y/N said, smiling with a heavy heart."You are not what they make out to be, you have a good heart Draco. Even if they don't think so, atleast I would know. We just met at the wrong time, that's all."
His anger had died down and was instantly replaced by fear. His embrace tightening as he recounted every moment they shared. He hated this feeling, being scared of the future.
He shouldn't be but he was. Losing Y/N would be devastating and his heart ached just thinking about it.With the Dark Lord's return right around the corner, he was afraid that she was right. Y/N pushed herself off of him gently. "This is dangerous, I should get going." She said, mostly to herself as she walked away from him but Draco was sick and tired of this set up, he wanted her and he knew she wanted him too.
He wrapped his arms around her, refusing to let her go, not this time. "You know this can't happen, we can't happen." She reminded him, wriggling away from his grasp but he turns her around to look her in the eyes and said, "Then let's make we happen Y/N. If you really love me... let me love you the way I know how to."
