After the War
•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•

Y/N gazed at the placid night sky and for once didn't worry about Death-Eaters invading the burrow. Tonight was cold and eerie just like every other night, the feeling of fear now a ghost that stays at the back of her mind. The wizarding world was plagued of Voldemort's return for a long time, making her lose everything she dreamt of after finishing her studies. But she wasn't worried about the lost time and opportunity now, she was grateful that the war was finally over, they won after all. Though she was still anxious about one thing, one particular person.

She couldn't help but wonder where on Earth he was, wether he was dead or alive after the bloodshed, after he explicitly sided with Voldemort before Harry miraculously came back to life and defeated him.

Where was Draco? Was he going to come back for her? It's already been a week but ever since the war ended, it took a toll on their world and time seemed incredulously slow.

Y/N rubbed her hands together to create some warmth in the cold evening. She turned around and walked to the burrow when a popping sound of apparition broke the peaceful silence. Her blood turned to ice as the dormant fear at the back of her head came to life.

Could it be? A death eater couldn't still possibly be at large.

Now that they've lost a lot of people they loved, running away wasn't an excuse. She drew her wand and was ready to strike, pushing the fear back in her throat but what she saw popped the anxiousness that was bubbling in her stomach.

There stood Draco, quite filthy but luckily unharmed. She didn't know what to say or what to feel now that he was right here infront of her. Knowing that she was supposed to be mad at him, after everything they've gone through the past four years and he was just going to leave her like that.

"Hi, Y/N." his voice was hoarse but it still made her heart race, though she kept her face neutral. A few minutes have gone by but Y/N didn't say a word. He looked awkward which was unusual, he spent most of the time scowling and judging people that the look on his face was foreign and unrecognizable. He exhaled and slowly walked up to her, she was about to let out a string of vile words when he fell on both knees infront of her.

"I'm so, so, sorry Y/N, I know that an apology won't suffice to what I've done," He sobbed, facing the Earth. "I'm sorry for everything I've put you through, it pains me to see you hurting,"

Y/N's thoughts drifted back to their time at the Malfoy Manor when she and Hermione were tortured by Draco's deranged aunt. The scar across her chest seemed to burn with pain once again. But she knew that he helped them that night, she really did. Falsely not recognizing Harry after Hermione jinxed his face, that was a sliver of hope that he was still the Draco she knew, but after the war she wasn't so sure.

"I know you don't ever want to see me again but I just wanted to see you one last time," the sight of him made her heart hurt, she didn't want to see him like this. "I am truly and completely sorry Y/N, I won't ask for your forgiveness because I don't deserve it." He continued to sob into his hands.

"You know what?" Draco held his breath for what's to come.

"Coming back to me is enough. Stand up." Y/N said, worrying when he didn't seem to budge but she knew he didn't want to meet her gaze.
