Harry didn't dare turn around at the sound of his name being called. He initially thought it was a reporter or journalist that wanted to corner and interview him, so he hastened his pace and acted as if he didn't hear a thing. But the predator finally caught up with it's prey, the boy didn't have any time to protest when his arm was jerked back with such a force.

He was more than willing to push the fiend away, only to be stopped by strong arms that wound around him in a tight embrace, almost crushing and toppling him over.

He pulled back a fraction to see who it was under the flurry of
Y/H/C hair, just to be sure that it wasn't a stranger who had him completely trapped.

"Y/N?" Harry recognized her as one of his schoolmates back in his days at Hogwarts.

It was surprising for him to see a fellow student and member of the D.A. in these very halls of the ministry. Although she wasn't exactly there, it brought back sad and dark recollections of when Harry last visited the place, though it was nice seeing a friendly face.

Y/N composed herself, taking an embarassing step away from him. "Sorry." The girl mumbled and retreated her hands to her sides, mentally slapping herself for veering out of control.

"It's alright," Harry offered her a reassuring smile but he couldn't help but wonder as to why she was here of all places.

"So, what brought you here ?"

She hesitated for a split-second. Lying was feeble and telling Harry the truth was more reasonable. She cursed the part of her that wanted to withhold the truth but there was enough lies in this damned world at the moment.

"I was here for Draco actually."

It took a few moments for Harry to register her words, realizing that the brevity of them did make sense as to why she was there.

The dumbfounded look on Harry's face would have rendered her old self laughing, but the Y/N that came out of the war didn't seem inclined to do so.

There was a tense silence between them that made it difficult to carry on altogether. "And here I thought the rumours weren't true." The words slipped from his mouth before he could stop himself.

He dragged his eyes up to her face, watching her reactions carefully. "You and Draco?"

Y/N relaxed once she sensed that there was no prejudice in his tone. She nodded and glanced over to the room where they had just came from. It slowly budged open and Harry pulled her into another hallway. As expected, there was a huge uproar once the doors burst open and witches and wizards alike were spilling out of the room.

Their synchronized complaints and arguments were haphazardly thrown at the aurors who were doing their best to pacify them.

"He's a good person Harry," Her voice was so quiet that it was almost a whisper lost in the eerie wind. "I know he is."

Harry reminisced their past years at Hogwarts, and there was not a single one that he recalled Draco Malfoy being a good person.

He was a complete prat.

A rich, spoiled git who in fact, was also a ruthless bully. The one student that terrorized everyone because he thought he was better than everyone else.  The kid who had a silver spoon jammed down his esophagus.
