After the War
•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•
Draco steps forth onto the pavement, facing a house that was clearly unlike it's neighbours. With the very peaceful and orderly atmosphere, this certain house stood out because of it's differently colored roof. It was in bright green which was definitely an eyecatcher, people would pass by and speculate as if they had something to say about it. Though it was obviously annoying, Draco knew that Y/N went out of her way to make an impression in this dull neighbourhood.
Just as he was about to cross the road, the front door opened, revealing a man who was carrying boxes of objects and was falling all over himself. Draco wondered if he was in the wrong place but just as he was about to disapparate, he saw her. She stomped out on the porch, carrying clothes and throwing them out furiously. They were clearly in a heated argument which called to the attention of many passerbys, but Y/N couldn't seem to care less.
When the guy settled the boxes down, he kneeled infront of her and started weeping which vaguely reminded Y/N of a distant memory. She gave him a disgusted look and flipped him an inappropriate finger before telling him that she already had enough with his lies. He had to go.
She was tired of having been treated like a scullery maid instead of a partner. Y/N slid the cursed ring off her finger and threw it onto the pile. "You can go shove that right up your arse, now leave."
"You'll definitely regret this Y/N, you will be wanting me back in a day or so, mark my words!" Y/N couldn't help but roll her eyes and let him finish his unnecessary speech. Her eyes scanned the surroundings. Seeing people stop by to listen in on them and make a spectacle out of her peculiar house. Nothing out of the ordinary really.
As her ex-fiancé kept babbling, her eyes wandered to a dark figure that didn't quite belong, right across the street.
Draco knew she saw him, her eyes locked on his before she turned to the unknown man again. He watched as the guy went to his "vehicle", backing out the street and drove away. He didn't notice Y/N still eyeing him from the distance. His heart raced as he saw the familiar Y/E/C eyes, studying him like before. It's the little things she still does that makes him a nervous wreck.
She kept her face devoid of emotion, reminding Draco of that faithful evening 7 years ago.
Time had flewn by so fast, Draco had spent this by clearing his name of past allegations. He went through his own highs and lows in life, with his father's death, he was left the title of the Malfoy Manor yet he no longer wanted to stay there anymore. He would only be reminded of each horrible memory it hid behind closed doors, he used their remaining riches to start a new life with his mum.
He travelled and decided to make a fortune out of his father's collection of dark artifacts, they had gotten by most of the time and that's what mattered to him. Now that he finally sold most of his father's belongings, he had a new home built for his mother since she deserved a peaceful life. He still travelled from time to time, exploring the world, finding a newfound interest in business and trade. Draco was no longer a wanted fugitive in the wizarding world, yet he is still learning to finally accept that himself.
He crossed the street, growing more and more anxious with each step. Draco was sure that she definitely loathed him now, not wanting to see his face ever again his heart ached just thinking about it but he had to try. He was determined to come back for her and here he was, he might've took longer than expected but in his heart he hoped that he wasn't too late.
