Remus eventually found James and Sirius dining in the Great Hall together. They sat in the seats furthest away from Professor Sprout, and Remus put one hand over his face, wondering what they had done. Remus noticed that many of the students were looking up at James and Sirius in admiration, and that the two had grim expressions and kept sneaking glances at Sprout, who seemed most displeased. Remus hadn't seen Sprout many times, but he assumed from the way her expression was fuming that her hair wasn't normally bright green. Dumbledore stood up and coughed. All eyes turned on him.

"Well, another day over, and Professor...Prongs and Padfoot's first day of teaching here at Hogwarts. I see it went," Dumbledore's eyes flickered first to Sprout's hair, then the admired expressions of the students, and finally James and Sirius themselves, "Rather interestingly. I hope, although Professor Prongs and Padfoot have set off their...part-time career with a bang," Remus snorted, "that things will right themselves to the way they once were," All eyes moved to Sprout's florescent hair, "And we will have a normal term. Tomorrow, Prongs and Padfoot will be assisting Professor Slughorn in the dungeons."  Remus assumed it was Slughorn who gave a cheery wave, "alongside Professor Snape." Dumbledore sat down and James' and Sirius' faces contorted into expressions of horror.
Remus saw James mouthing, 'Snivellus?' and Sirius looking at the meal in front of him with dead eyes and a dramatic expression, and rolled his eyes, walking up to them.

So that meant he didn't have to have a Potions lesson tomorrow, Remus thought, satisfied with the thought. As much as he wanted the memories back, he didn't like the dark dungeons and would have much rather preferred to spend time with Sirius or James.

After dinner was over, Remus trudged up to the Room of Requirement, listening to James and Sirius' dramatic declarations of doom, death and peril, all because they were destined to spend a day in the dungeons with Snape. Remus rolled his eyes. Death, doom and peril? Remus was still standing here, same as ever, and he was most certainly not dead. But a little voice inside him nudged him and whispered, "Oi, you."

Remus looked at Sirius who was now collapsed on his bed - they had made it to the Room long ago, and they were still going on about it.

"You know if you didn't antagonise him, he wouldn't retaliate, and then you could co-operate." Remus suggested.

"Co-operate?" James repeated, disgusted.

"Snivellus?" Sirius looked at him as if he wasn't right in the head.

"Come on, guys. It can't be that bad." Remus defended.

"Oh yeah? And since when do you like him? Might we be hearing a declaration of love by the end of the week?" Sirius mocked.

"I realised that we were being complete idiots about Snape after you put a memory charm on me that made me forget everything about my whole damn life!" Remus exploded. The whole room fell very silent, and Sirius turned to face the other way. Remus did the same, and James sat there staring for a few minutes before deciding they were staying there for the rest of the night and muttering, "Nox."

That night when Sirius screamed, Remus didn't even get out of bed. He opened one eye and closed it again. James had sighed and climbed out of bed. Remus heard that desolate, innocent voice again and again would do anything for him. At least this time Sirius had had some timing. It had only been 5 o'clock in the morning when he had woken them, only half an hour before Remus normally woke, which left him plenty of time to read the book Severus had lent him. It was rather dull, like a recipe book. After 26 potions, Remus got incredibly bored and whispered for a magical fantasy book. The book that appeared in his hand was 'Tales of Beedle the Bard'

The next thing Remus knew, he was being shaken awake.

What?

He had fallen asleep, the book resting on his chest, open at page 43. Remus hadn't gotten far in before it had led him to sleep. The face in front of him was Sirius - clearly overnight he had forgotten their mini-fight, and was grinning in his face, "Hey Moony. Rise and Shine, it's 8 o'clock!"

Remus had never jumped out of bed faster. He quickly got dressed - again in the wizard robes, which felt weird, he was used to wearing muggle clothes, this made him feel like...well, like a wizard - and ran down the stairs ("Careful! That's the invisible step, Moony!") to find that the students were going casually about their day. James was sitting next to a fuming Sprout, leaning away from her as though worried about getting hexed. Two chairs appeared and made space in the teacher's table, both next to eachother. Remus and Sirius each took one and sat down.

Dumbledore had no announcements this morning, in fact, he wasn't there at all. His large seat seemed rather empty without him in it, and Minerva kept a stern eye on the Hall, not that she didn't normally. Despite not knowing her, Remus would be surprised if she wasn't the thing that held this whole school together. Sure, Dumbledore might be able to keep it upright, but without Minerva McGonagall, he was sure the school would crumble.

Remus eventually got up and tried to return back to the Room, but both Sirius and James grabbed one arm and pulled him into the air.

"Where," they asked, "Do you think you are going?"

"To the Room, of course, I need to study."

"And Beedle the Bard was really helping you study this morning," Sirius said sternly. Remus blushed, looked down and muttered something along the lines of "Leave me alone."

However, James and Sirius did  let go, but did not leave him alone. They followed him up, taking turns speaking.

"Oh Remus." James began.
"Moony, Moony, Moony." Sirius continued.
"You."
"Are."
"Coming."
"With."
"Us," James sang.

Finally Remus couldn't take it. He let out a growl and said, "Would you please leave?"

James and Sirius looked at each other and agreed, "Nope!"

They lifted Remus up by magic, who was protesting, and down down down into the depths of the dungeons, the one place Remus didn't think he was going to have to enter today.
