Remus woke up late, his head pounding as he woke up from the dream he had just had.

It was from before.

When he hadn't forgotten everything about his life.

And from the way his heart was pumping, he'd had the same dream before. Repeatedly.

The dream was him as a wolf, the perspective and view was very different than a human.

In the dream, all his friends surrounded him - Sirius, James, Peter, Lily, his parents, everyone who had ever trusted him for who he was.

He killed them all, in the dream, before coming back to being a human and breaking down about killing them. Then he had woken up.

His previous life was surely returning. They had mentioned something about lycanthropy, what was that about? Werewolves...but that was legend stuff.

"A wizard." Remus wheezed, again.

He couldn't wrap his head around it. Him, normal everyday teacher, a wizard, and maybe even a werewolf, one of the most frightening creatures out there.

He longed for his previous life to be able to return - he wanted to remember Sirius, Sirius and James and Peter and Lily. The Marauders, his school life, his parents, just his life. Losing a lifetime due to one tiny spell causes a lot of mistakes.

Sirius rung the doorbell at 10 o'clock. It was a chilly day, and Sirius donned a leather jacket, very Muggle, and cool shades, despite the clouds.

Remus sighed and opened the door. Sirius grinned.

"Hey Moony." Sirius said casually, handing Remus a spare leather jacket. Remus took it cautiously, one eyebrow raised.

"What? Don't look at me like that, Moony, it's not anything bad. You aren't used to wizard transport, so we're driving muggle like, to London." Sirius declared.

"And why do we have to have a leather jacket?" Remus questioned.

"Well, I don't have a car in my possession. We'll be riding on....this!" Sirius revealed his motorbike, minus the side car that was attachable.

"Sirius, where is the side car?"

"What? It's there! Oh, dang it, I forgot to put it in. Idiot." Sirius shook his head, mumbling to himself.

"We could go in my car?" Remus gestured to his Ford car, an old decrepit possession that was second-hand. Sirius smirked.

"Remus, we would like to have fun. Going on the motorbike will be much more fun." Sirius grinned again.

"Sirius.....fine." Remus just couldn't refuse that grin.

Remus pulled the leather jacket on, locked his house and Sirius brandished a wand from his pocket.

"It's yours." Sirius gave it to Remus.

"Why do you have it?"

"Because....you....I did the charm, and I decided I was responsible for it." Sirius explained gently.

Sirius positioned himself on the motorbike, and Remus sat on the back, awkwardly holding Sirius shoulders.

"Mate, that's not going to work." Sirius told him bluntly.

"Well then what should I do?" Remus panicked.

"Arms around my waist." Sirius instructed. Remus sighed and did as he was told.

Two hours later:

"Bloody hell, why does the motorway have to be so bloody annoying. Merlin, even a granny could walk faster than this!" Sirius complained.

They were currently stuck on the motorway. Sirius was holding the handlebars whilst looking at all the drivers with an evil eye, and Remus was attempting to sort out his hair in the small motorbike mirror, and failing. He wanted to impress he headmaster, because...the headmaster would help him get his proper life back. The one he was living at the moment was a fake, a sham.

Sirius was fed up with this. Irritated, he pulled off from the main road onto the lay by. He turned round to look at Remus, grimly.

"You wanna hold on tight, Moony. Trust me, this is going to be a wild ride."

And with that, Sirius pulled off into the woods at a high speed. The path was bumpy, with unpleasant obstacles that rendered Remus' attempt at correcting his now unruly hair useless. Remus clutched onto Sirius for dear life, petrified of falling off and hitting a tree.

Every once in a while, Sirius would look back to smile and check that Remus was okay, to which Remus responds by shouting at him to 'LOOK AT THE PATH, IDIOT!', convinced that they would die.

They followed the bumpy path for another few minutes before Sirius started to get bored, again. He pressed a button on the motorbike and it started to rise into the air, and Remus sighed as he saw Sirius's grin widen.

"Look, there's London!" Remus pointed, astounded they had made it so far in such a short time.

"Yep, Moony. Let's go into descent, watch out."

They landed in an empty alleyway near to The Leaky Cauldron, and Sirius pressed a brick to reveal a cupboard.

"Handy for storing things away." He explained, then stalked out after slamming it shut. Remus followed, glancing at their location.

Entering the pub, Sirius winced as Edward, the landlord, waved at the pair.

"Sirius, Remus, Firewhisky? Is James with Lily?" He inquired

"Not today, Eddie. Prongs is with Evans, yes, but we are just passing through I'm afraid. Have some business here with Moony." Sirius boomed.

"Important business?" Eddie glanced at them. Remus nodded his head fervently.

"Remus you're a bit quiet. No greetings, mister?"

"What? Oh...sorry....uh....Edward?" Remus stuttered.

"Remus what has overcome you? You don't call me Edward, you've called me Eddie for 3 years."

"Sorry, Eddie. Just a little distracted, I think. We are going to see Dumbledore." Sirius explained.

"Why come such a long way? Why not just Apparate?" Eddie questioned. Remus furrowed his brow.

"Moony doesn't like it much. I agreed to accompany him, and we will be coming back, Eddie, for the Floo, just need to pop into Diagon for some supplies, for an experiment. Prongs and I..."

"Of course, Sirius, whenever you like."

"Merlin, we have to go! Moony, let's go!" Sirius pulled Remus' arm and Remus glanced at Edward with a look that said, "He's crazy, he's absolutely mad, yet I'm following him. Why am I with him?"

Truth was, Remus was scared. Bloody hell, of course he was scared. This man had entered his life and wreaked so much havoc...this had been the most eventful week of his life, well...his life as a teacher, which apparently was a pretend life. And he was close to breaking, close to collapsing and not being able to go further, not able to carry on. His life as a teacher had been rocky, he had thought plenty of times about ending it all, ending the torment of life. Life wasn't worth living.

And then Sirius came in. Sirius entered his life, and now life was worth living, he had something to live for, the light in his life.

Sirius had done this in just a few days, when Remus had battled with life for as long as he could remember.

So why was Sirius any different?
