Sarah’s POV
“Sarah!”I heard him yell, bursting into the bathroom, posture rigid and fists clenched. “What happened?” I could only shake my head, water sloshing as my body trembled so horribly that I was almost slipping under.
“Shite,” I heard him whisper before he was by my side, lifting me out of the bath tub by my armpits and easily pulling me out into his lap. “Breathe, lass.”
“He’s gonna get me again,” was all I could managed. “Don’t let him get me, Niall. I-I don’t want to be hurt anymore-“
“And ya won’t,” he cut me off, gaze steady. “We won’t let him get you, alright? We won’t let ‘im hurt you anymore. Yer safe now, love.”
“I’m never safe,” I mumbled, fear still coursing through my veins. “A-And I’ll never BE safe. He’ll always be out there, j-just waiting to get me-“
“Not after we’re done with ‘im,” Niall said evenly. “That bastard is going to get what’s comin to ‘im for hurting you and Macie.”
“She’s such a sweet little girl,” I said quietly. “Sh-She doesn’t deserve what he’s gonna do to her.”
“And what’s that?” the young man holding me asked softly.
“B-Beat her,” I began. “T-Touch her. U-Use her despite her age. I-I can’t bear the thought, Niall! She doesn’t deserve it!”
“Neither did you,” he said softly making my whole body bristle.
“How would you know?” I spat, my lip quivering as emotions flooded through me…emotions I hadn’t felt for a long time. “You don’t know me. You don’t know what I deserve. For all you know I-I had it coming for just being me-“
“Stop that,” Niall barked, a gentle hand firmly gripping my chin and making me look at his stormy eyes. “NO ONE deserves that and bloody hell, so help me one day I will make you believe it.” I stayed silent, not saying anything, knowing I wouldn’t get anywhere with him. He could try or whatever, but he wasn’t gonna get anywhere.
“We’ll finish this conversation later,” he promised, his hands gently rubbing up and down my arms. “We need to get you dry…you’re shivering, luv.” He stood, carrying me to the counter and setting me down, picking up the clothes he had brought and handing them to me.
“I’ll leave you to get dressed, yeah? I’ll be right outside if you need anything,” he smiled a bit, giving me a small tip of the head before stepping outside and leaving me with my thoughts.
Brinlee’s POV
“Oh, sorry, honey,” Niall said, his hands gently gripping the tops of my arms and holding me steady. Wierdo.
“Ni, let go of me,” I laughed a bit. “I’m fine now, but I AM thirsty.”
“You can’t go down there,” he said quickly, biting his lip in a nervous habit. “U-Uh Louis brought a girl over. They’re quite loud and I honestly don’t think you want to witness that.”
“Oh stop it,” I huffed slightly. “These walls are paper and Louis has a girlfriend.”
“Brin, just go back to bed, babe. PLEASE,” he said desperately, a knot of foreboding starting to swell in the pit of my stomach.
“Niall, what’s going on?” I asked evenly, my brow furrowing as he shifted from froot to foot, biting his lip, a nervous habit I had picked up that he did. “Niall-“
“These are huge on me, Niall,” there was a sudden giggle as the door to the bathroom opened, my mouth dropping open as I took in the sight before me.
“Um-uh….Sarah this is-“ Niall began when he was cut off by a small whimper.
“-Brinlee,” Sarah cried, a familiar set of arms being flung around me as I hugged her body close to my chest, tears stinging my eyes.
“You’re alive,” I managed. “You’re-Your’e truly alive. I thought he had killed you. H-He did kill you! I saw him!”
“N-No, you saw him stab me,” she said quietly,” her face digging into my shoulder. “I-I was able to stop the bleeding and give myself some really shitty stitches-“
“Language, babe,” I laughed tearily, hugging her tighter to me as I tried my hardest not to break down crying.
“Wait, Matt stabbed you?” Niall said worriedly, his brow furrowed as he took in our hugging bodies. That’s when it hit me; the realization that made me gently push Sarah away and my eyes to grow steely as I stared at Niall.
“How in the HELL do you know my father’s name?” I hissed angrily, the boy’s face paling.
“Y-You should talk to Liam. It’s not for me to explain,” he sputtered, looking at the ground.
“Is that the boy who saved me?” Sarah asked, the lad’s head snapping up as he mouthed a small ‘quiet,’ but it was too late.
“No…” I whispered, anger and worry flooding through my veins as I ran down the stairs, storming towards Louis’ room.
“LIAM! I KNOW YOU’RE IN THERE! OPEN UP THE DAMN DOOR!” I yelled, pounding on the wooden door. “YOU HAVE A LOT OF EXPLAINING TO DO, MISTE-“ It swung open revealing a Louis with bloody hands and a grim face. It was only then I saw Liam dead on the bed, blood coating his torso.
“Brin, he isn’t-“ Louis began but I was out like a light, black spinning in my vision as I passed out.
