I wasn't late this morning, because I set my alarm earlier.

Why? Because mom was with her friends, so no one fought. I had a great dream thank you. I slept like a baby.

I was in the kitchen, before dad, which was weird. I'm not used to not being late. I poured myself some cereal and started eating. Mom left a note on the fridge.

James,

We'll be back in two weeks. I'm sorry I didn't tell you earlier, but you weren't home yesterday. We left last night, but I just want to tell you that I love you and that I'll be back soon.

Love, Mom

PS I want a call every night

PPS you'll be staying next door at Lisa's

What the flipping hamburger! No! They can't just leave and tell me to stay with someone else. No.

Wait, they? So mom and dad? Together? For two weeks? What is going on in my life right now? I place my bowl in the sink, and the doorbell rang.

I open the door, "Morning James, are you, ready honey?" I stared at Lisa confused.

Then I remembered that it must be weird to just stand there, "Morning Lisa, sure let me go get my bag." I packed my bag and stepped out of the house.

"You can always get more stuff if you need any," she said locking the house and giving me the key.

I nod thanking her and started walking to where the bus usually stops. I haven't been on the bus for a while now, this will be interesting.

I was just lost in my thoughts when I heard my name and turned around. That's when I saw Bailey. Well, I almost didn't recognize her. The ends of her hair weren't purple and blue anymore, she was just blond.

Her makeup and black nail polish are replaced with something more natural. And her clothes, well they were normal. A pair of jeans with a grey sweater.

She looked normal.

I stood there not knowing what to say, "So, what do you think?"

"Y-you look..." different "nice." She smiled and then threw me her car keys. "W-why-"

"You can drive, right?" I nod. Luckily my dad did teach me when I was younger. "Well, come on."

The whole car ride I kept thinking about what the other kids are going to say. About her. About me. About us. People always judge.

When we reached school she said that she has something important to do, so luckily for me, she left me. I walked to my locker meeting my friends there.

Trent was the first to talk, "What the hell is going on between you and Hottie?" I shrugged.

"Nothing," I said closing my locker.

"Well, that wasn't what we heard," Jasper said folding his arms.

"Then what did you hear?"

"Well for starters," Stacy said holding out her hand and counting on it. "You went shopping with her, you went to the movies with her and now you're living with her." Woah, everything really goes fast here.

"So?" I said shrugging.

They all gaped at me. I started walking, but Jasper grabbed my arm. "James I know there is something you're not telling us. I'm your best friend, why would you hide it from me?"

"Look I'm sorry, I'm just helping her. She wants to be a good girl." They all frowned. "Okay, I'll tell you everything later, but right now I need to get to class."

"Promise?" They all asked.

"I promise." I speed walked to class, and hand in my project that I've worked hard on.

I must say that I'm really proud of that one. The bell rang just as I walked out of the class. Now I have English. That means Mr. Anderson, great, I wanted to talk to him.

"Hi Mr. Anderson," I greeted as I took my seat.

"Hey," he said sipping his coffee.

"So, mom and dad just left me this note," I hand him it. "Why would they just be gone for two weeks?" His eyes scan over the words.

"I don't know, maybe they want to sort things out." I nod. "So I've heard about you hanging out with her."

"W-we have a deal." That's all.

He nodded, "What about the dia-"

"Dia?" Bailey said taking her seat next to me.

"What about a dialogue? Maybe we should do it, what do you say James?" Woah, what a save. This man is really good.

"Y-yeah, that'll be c-cool."

"As long as it isn't Romeo & Juliet, I don't like Shakespeare." She said taking out her books. The other kids started joining the class.

I could feel all the stares on me while I worked, and the funny thing is that Bailey was working too. She was even done before me and started reading.

This was so... weird.

The bell rang just in time before Bailey wanted to talk to me. I was thankful because I was nervous. It was so close and don't want to ruin anything.

I took her diary and went to the library. I have a free period and I'm eager to read. I know this might sound odd, but I need to read her diary now.

I do want to know more about her, there is so many questions I have about her.

Dear Dumb Diary

So today wasn't one of the best days, but definitely not the worse. After searching for two weeks, we finally found it.

Turns out I was right, but I was wrong too. What the hell is going on in my life right now?

Again almost nothing makes sense to me. She-

"Jay?" I gulped and closed the book sliding it into my backpack.

"I was heading for the lost and found, could you tell me where it is? Sorry, I forgot. I'm looking for my book and it's really important to me, can you please tell me if you see it?" I nod.

"Promise?" No.

I crossed my fingers, "H-head straight to the office, o-on your l-left. It's next to the n-nurses."

"Thanks again, o and James. Please promise me you'll tell me if you find it." I tried to get all the guilt out of me. I stood up. She is just desperate to find the book, she doesn't know that you have it.

"I promise."
