When Jasper dropped me off at my house, my parent's car was in the driveway.
Jasper didn't say anything, but he gave me a comforting smile. I thank him for the ride and climb out. My heart rate increased with every step I took closer to the house.
I finally opened the door and heard voices in the kitchen. I was excited to see them, but I was also nervous. Maybe it's because I'm worried?
I immediately recognized my mother's voice. "James!" She squealed and attacked me with a hug. "I missed you so much." She peppered kisses all over my face.
"Mom," I whined, trying to get out of her grip.
Dad, to my surprise, also gave me a hug. A man hug. "Son." He said and patted my back.
"I hope he's been good." My mom said in a stern voice.
"Oh yes," Lisa answered. "He's a real gentleman." She winked at me and I just smile.
"I wish I could say the same," Bailey said hopping off the counter. I only now realize that she was also in the room. My mom gave me a very bad mom look.
"James?" She raised her eyebrow.
I rolled my eyes, and my mom gaped at my behavior. "It was nothing," I said and walked out of the kitchen.
I heard her calling my name, but I was so frustrated that I locked my door. I don't know what she wants. One minute she is all nice to me and the next she is so... bad. Ugh!
I sat down on my bed and took the diary in my hands. I hate this stupid thing! I threw it somewhere in my room and lay down staring at the ceiling.
There was a knock on my door, but I didn't care about it. I heard a few clicks and the door opened. Bailey stepped inside my room, her face full of guilt. I groaned and then turned around. "You're not making this easy." She whispered.
"What easy?"
"I- I just want to say... I'm sorry." I turned around.
"Did you say something?" I said, with a smirk plastered on my face. She sighed.
"I don't want to repeat myself." She fidgeted with her fingers. She's also like those people who never apologize, isn't she? I just turned around again. "Fine James, I'm sorry. Okay?"
"Me too." I smiled, and she smiled back.
"Now can I get my diary back?" I shook my head. I'm enjoying this. I'll give it back to her when I want to.
"But I'm not done yet." I pouted. She sighed and then started walking out of my room. "Wait!" She stopped. "I mean, well Carter invited me for pizza. I was wondering if-"
"No, I have plans." She said and walked away.
Did you want to join us?
Me >> Hey Carter, see you in 10
Carter >> Hey, so what did Bailey say?
Me >> She has plans :/
Carter >> That's sad. Piper and Flynn also have plans so, I guess it's just you and me. ;)
Me >> Okay :D
I grabbed my jacket, ran a hand through my hair. Then checked me in the mirror. Last time I wasn't wearing my glasses. I place it on my nightstand and put the contacts in.
I make my way out of the house before- "And where do you think you're going, young man?" My mom questioned me.
"Out," I said placing my phone in my pocket. Her eyes scanned over me.
"Bradley! Our son is going on a date!" My mom squealed. Soon my dad appears.
"Are you sure?"
"Yes. He combed his hair, he changed his clothes and I don't see his glasses." They both open their mouths to speak.
"I'm not going on a date." I quickly cut them off. This is getting really embarrassing for me. Why won't they stop?
"Are you sure?" My mom question.
I nod my head. "Where were you guys?" I ask them. They still didn't tell me.
"Well, your mother and I went to visit some friend of ours." I narrow my eyes. "And I went for a job interview, and I got it."
"What? Dad that's amazing!" I said giving him a pat on the back. "And you guys?" My mom nodded.
"Yes, we sorted it out." She smiled.
"James there is uh- I just- we just want you to-"
"Enjoy your date." Mom said.
"Yeah, you should go out and have a lovely time with her. You know, treat her right." I groan.
"I'm just going out with a friend. So, if you guys would please excuse me. I have to go." They nodded and my mom whispered something in his ear.
I just wanted to get out of here.
I'm proud of my dad getting a job, and even prouder of them fixing their problems. I had enough of their constant fighting and that was getting out of hand.
Dad doesn't smell like alcohol, so that is a very good thing. Maybe he also left that behind. Which I am very glad for. That just destroys your life, that was the main reason why I didn't want to drink at that other party.
I was afraid that I'll end up like my father. But luckily for me, he changed a bit.
I was planning on walking because I love to run. It wasn't a surprise to see Bailey climbing into Parker's car, but I ignored it and kept on walking.
What is it with Parker and her? Is she trying to make me jealous? Does she really like him?
I just don't understand her.
Jogging has always been one of my hobbies, but normally I don't show it. I guess I started liking it because I would always run after the bus. Luckily I have some contacts.
I am trying to save up for college, but I really want a car. I've thought about it too many times before and I just don't know how I'm going to get one.
I want to understand her.
She's just so confusing sometimes. You don't know what she wants and what she means. That irritates me.
Sometimes I wish that I have that superpower where you can like read minds. Wouldn't that be cool?
I step inside the restaurant and I could see her brown hair from where I stood. A smile appeared on her face as soon as her eyes connected with mine. And for the first time, I was really happy to see a girl...
That wasn't Bailey.
