A/N >> VERY special chapter! Why? Oh you know, it's just my birthday. So... enjoy! My present to you guys ❤️
"Yeah mom, okay bye." I end the call. She was blabbering about how much she misses me and that she'll be back next week.
I don't mind having my parents around anymore. I've never had this much sleep in years, and that's all because they're not here.
My mom sounds happier. So that's good.
I scrubbed the dishes and then hung my apron up. Today has just been too much for me, I want my bed. I lock the diner's door and started walking home.
I think the best part of stepping inside the house was the smell of food. I closed my mouth before I start drooling.
Ever since I lived with Lisa, I've become very fond of her food. It's way better than the burnt food mom always makes if I'm not making it. I was surprised to see Bailey behind the stove rather than Lisa.
I'm sure my face was full of amusement, watching her cook, "Stop. Smiling." She said while she tries to plate something.
I started laughing and she folded her arms, "S-sorry, but why are you cooking? I thought you learned from our baking experience."
She sighs, "Well, it's something I always wanted to do, but... yeah. No one thought me." I rubbed my hands together and take the other apron.
"I think I can learn you the basics." She snorts.
"Yeah right, we are just going to end up covered with food." I shook my head.
"Nonsense, now take these and wash them, while I start prepping the chicken."

We were finished in half an hour and then watched another action movie, but when I wanted to go to bed, Bailey grabbed my arm.
"Nah-uh, remember when I said we need to make your list longer."
"What list?" I pretend to have forgotten about it.
"Your Finally Fun List? Come on," she drags me out the door. "I've already planned everything." I flinch back.
"I-I don't think this is a good idea."
"Oh come on James, I know deep down somewhere inside you there is this little voice saying," she lifts up her fist. "Go, James! Go!" I roll my eyes but take the hand she holds out for me.
We step out of the house, "So what do you have in mind?" I ask, quirking an eyebrow.
She smirks, "You'll see." We make a turn. "So you hate no one, but there must be someone you don't like?" I nod. "If there is one person you would like to get revenge on then that person would be-"
"Parker Adams." Bailey froze for a second but then continued walking.
"O-okay, so why don't you guys like each other?" She asks me.
"It's a long story."
"I'm sure I can keep up." She smiled.
"We just don't get along okay? So what is your plan?" She holds out a paint bucket.
"So what would Mr. Adams reaction be if he woke up tomorrow morning with a new and improved ride?" She hands me a paintbrush. "He'll be a total barbie." I laughed and then we started painting his brand new McLaren. I just couldn't stop laughing.
"We can tick that off the list." I smiled. "Now, this one we'll need my car." We climbed into the car and parked in front of a house and then she climbed out.
She hands me toilet paper and we TP the entire house, even the tree that is in the yard. We chased each other with the toilet paper, making trails. We were almost done with the porch when the light switched on and we make a run for it.
I almost tripped my way to the car but managed to make it just in time so Bailey can take off.
"That was close," she breathed out, and I nod. We almost got caught. "Well, now you can say that you have toilet papered the principal's house."
"Yeah, what's next?"
"I thought you'd never ask." She parked the car and climbed out and I just followed her. She has a few tricks up her sleeves and I wouldn't be surprised if there is a tiger there.
"A-and what exactly are we doing here?" I ask her staring at the water.
"You said you never went skinny dipping." My cheeks flame red as I think about it. "Don't worry, it's dark I won't see a thing. And if this makes you feel better then I'll go first." She motions for me to turn around and I do so. I take my glasses off and place them aside.
I hear the splash and then take my shirt off, "How's the water?" I yell over my shoulder. I slowly turn around and she was staring at me.
"Great, now your turn." She placed her hand over her eyes and turned around. I quickly took off my pants and jumped into the water.
As soon as the water made contact with my skin, I relaxed. This water really is great. Bailey swam closer to me, and she was right, you can't see a thing. I splashed her, which she gasped and splashed me even more, but swam away before I could splash her back.
We were halfway across the lake when someone yelled, "What are you two teenagers doing here at this time?" It was an older lady and she didn't look very friendly. She then spotted our clothes, "Oh no! Please get some clothes on and then go straight to bed. You shouldn't be here!"
We both sprinted out of the water and dressed behind bushes. I couldn't see too well without my glasses, but I got my clothes on.
I hopped into the car and Bailey also joined in, "It was better than I expected."
"What, really? Even with the old lady?" I nod.
"Yeah, she was a bonus." We laughed and Bailey took out a piece of paper. I saw that she wrote something down and she placed it in her pocket.
"I'm glad that the granny got you extra points, but I think we should head home."
She was right, Lisa arrived just after we did and as soon as I placed my head on that pillow it felt like a marshmallow.
I was out.
It really is one of the best feelings when you get some good old shuteye.
Today was actually freaking fun.
